He connected the dots.
"You killed Yanshao, didn't you?"
Arlong asked coldly.
For eight stable, peaceful years,
no one dared touch his people.
And suddenly, right after this unfamiliar group arrived,
one of his crew ended up dead.
Only an idiot would fail to see the connection.
Adrian shrugged.
"Yep, I did it.
What, got a problem with that, fish-boy?"
His arrogant tone made every fish-man boil with rage.
Especially Arlong—
his nostrils practically twisted sideways in fury.
Not only had someone killed one of his own,
the bastard was still ACTING arrogant.
This was pure humiliation.
"You lowly human filth! You dare kill a noble fish-man and act proud? You're looking for death!"
A burly fish-man—Chew—burst out from the crowd,
baring his teeth as he charged toward Adrian.
Arlong's fish-men always saw themselves as superior.
Humans hurting them?
Absolutely unforgivable.
Chew was already envisioning how he'd break Adrian's limbs one by one.
But—
He rejoiced too soon.
"Yoriichi."
Adrian said calmly.
The moment the name left his mouth—
Yoriichi moved.
He was a blur.
No—he was gone and reappeared behind Chew in the blink of an eye.
Before anyone could process—
SPLAT.
Chew's four limbs and torso were already severed.
They fell to the ground with wet thuds.
It was too fast.
No one even saw Yoriichi swing his blade.
A heartbeat later—
"AAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!"
Chew's agonized scream shattered the silence as blood poured from his cleanly sliced wounds.
Adrian sighed lightly.
"Why so impulsive?
You could've chatted a bit.
Live a little longer.
The world is beautiful, you know. No need to be so violent."
The gentleness in his tone only made every fish-man shiver.
A few seconds ago, they saw Adrian as a random human whelp.
Now?
He was terrifying.
Because none of them—not even Arlong's high-rank officers—could follow Yoriichi's movement.
Which meant Yoriichi's strength completely eclipsed theirs.
And this monster…
was obeying Adrian.
That meant Adrian was the true leader.
Just like Arlong was the core of the Arlong Pirates—
Adrian held that same position in his group.
Arlong's expression turned grim as he asked:
"What are you?
Marine?
Bounty hunter?"
He needed answers.
Yoriichi's ability was terrifying enough to make even Arlong cautious.
Engaging recklessly could result in severe losses—
maybe even death.
After so many years of cushy dominance and easy money,
Arlong no longer had the ferocity he once possessed.
Why else would he crawl under a shady deal with the Navy?
If he could avoid this battle,
he would.
But—
"Arlong, are you deaf, you scaly clown?"
Adrian spat.
"I already told you—I'm a BANDIT.
A bandit! Get that into your fishy skull!"
"Marine? Bounty hunter?
Is your brain full of seawater?!"
He stepped forward, irritation flashing across his face.
"I won't waste breath on trash like you."
"You handing over your money voluntarily? Impossible. You'd never agree."
"So…"
A grin spread across Adrian's face.
"Yoriichi.
Zabuza."
"Turn them into sashimi."
His voice was soft.
His words were cruel.
His confidence was absolute.
And behind him—
the two monsters moved.
Translator's Thoughts:
This is the moment Arlong finally understands—too late—that he's not the apex predator anymore. Yoriichi carving Chew apart faster than the fish-men could blink instantly flips the power dynamic, and Adrian doesn't even bother pretending to negotiate.
Calling Arlong a "scaly clown" while ordering two legendary killers to "turn them into sashimi" is peak outlaw energy. Adrian's arrogance isn't bravado—he actually has the monsters to back it up.
