Chapter 4 - Chapter 4: Witches

When Severus heard his brother's words, he was first overjoyed, then very confused: "But I don't feel your magic."

Perceiving and identifying the magic fluctuations of one's own kind is an innate ability for a Wizard. Severus could vaguely feel a power similar to his own in Eileen's body, but Thomas and Tobias did not possess it.

"Maybe my magic is too weak," he smiled sheepishly, then reached out and gently stroked the small patch of grass that Severus had pulled bare. The lush green grass immediately grew as if time had accelerated, returning to its original state in a moment.

Severus: "..." Was his brother's magic considered very weak? Would he himself be considered useless in the Wizarding World? From this moment, Severus laid the foundation to become a top student; he believed that diligence could compensate for lack of talent!

What Thomas used, of course, was not magic, but Wood Element Ability.

His current body was indeed that of a Young Wizard, but it seemed there was a problem with his magic source due to a magic outburst when he was young.

However, his ability was still too weak to use it for internal body examination. Once his ability improved, the Wood Element Ability had strong healing properties, so he wasn't worried about being unable to recover.

It seems that in Harry Potter, Young Wizards are supposed to go to Hogwarts at age 11. He still had 4 years, which was completely enough time for him to recover.

After an argument, the two girls below saw the elder Petunia angrily leave her sister behind.

Thomas stood up and brushed the grass off his clothes: "Severus, let's go down."

"Mm." Severus nodded. He knew Thomas wanted to go comfort the girl below.

Although Lily had won the argument with her sister, seeing her sister's retreating back made her feel a hint of fear. She threw away the flower in her hand and mumbled, "But I think this is magic, just like in the storybooks."

"Indeed, this is magic." Lily heard a voice, and at that moment, it sounded like heavenly music from a fairy tale to her ears.

Following the sound, she saw two thin, small boys of her age, dressed in shabby clothes, walking towards her.

Lily had never seen them before and curiously observed the two: "What did you just say?"

Hearing her question, devoid of any malice, Severus breathed a sigh of relief. This girl wore a beautiful and delicate dress, clearly from a wealthy family, which reminded him of some unpleasant memories. He tugged at the corner of his clothes, trying to make them look tidier.

Meanwhile, Thomas bent down and picked up another withered small flower from the ground: "I said, this really is magic. You are a Little Witch."

Lily watched him do the same thing she had done; a withered flower, defying natural laws, bloomed again.

But Thomas's words made her frown: "A Witch? But the Witches in books are all big villains, they like to curse people. I don't want to be a Witch."

"..." Thomas looked at the little girl's serious expression, somewhat speechless. He heard a scoff from Severus beside him.

"Muggle storybooks are all lies. Wizards also have good people and bad people; it depends on their character, not their ability..."

"What are you doing!" Petunia, who had just left, had calmed down after a while and started to worry about her sister, so she returned to look for Lily.

She saw two skinny boys in shabby shirts surrounding her sister, talking about something. In this place, with children like them, she immediately ran over vigilantly and shielded her sister behind her: "What do you want? Don't think I don't know, you must be children from Spinner's End?"

"???" Are children from Spinner's End some legendary creatures? They haven't committed any serious crimes, have they? Thomas looked at the nervous Petunia, who seemed convinced that they were bullying Lily.

"Petunia, don't worry." Lily pulled her sister's arm and soothed: "They just told me I'm a Witch."

"Yes... No..." Big sister, you're really good at comforting people. Thomas looked at Petunia's gaze, which was one that wished to beat them up.

"You dirty little liars! Don't come near my sister again!" Without waiting for Thomas and them to explain, and not allowing Lily to resist, she used her age advantage to directly grab Lily's arm and drag her away.

Thomas shrugged at Severus: "Being a good person is really not easy."

Severus had just been scared by the angry Petunia and nodded in agreement.

Having rested enough, the two brothers continued forward. The street began to widen, and passersby were neatly and appropriately dressed. Children played happily on the playground equipment in the small park by the street. The bustling crowd and the occasional sounds of laughter created a world Severus had never seen before.

Thomas looked around, searching for his target shop, while Severus, though very curious, was more filled with nervousness and fear. He tightened his grip on his brother's hand.

Thomas sensed Severus's unease, turned his gaze back to his brother, and firmly clasped his hand, smiling reassuringly: "Don't be afraid, Severus."

Just then, Boris landed on Thomas's shoulder and reminded: "Here!" A warm and inviting aroma drifted into Thomas's breath.
