Chapter 23 - Chapter 23:Commander of The Past

The scene opens inside a dimly lit training room.

Jay moves like a storm—bare-chested, sweat dripping, each punch slamming into the reinforced wall with explosive speed. His breath is steady, focused.

The door bursts open.

A young Association officer, slightly out of breath, rushes in.

"Sir… the photo you sent to headquarters—someone who knows that man has been found!"

Jay stops mid-punch.

The girl looks at him properly for the first time… and instantly blushes.

"Uh… s-sir… also—could I maybe… have your number…?"

Jay doesn't even answer. He simply steps aside, unfazed.

Cut.

Outside the room, Officer Tejus waits.

"Jay sir," Tejus says, "we located someone in Goa. A retired hunter. He claims he was a teammate of the man in your photo."

Jay's eyes harden.

The man in the photo is his father.

"Tejus. Book me a flight."

Tejus checks his phone, frowning.

"Sir, because of the ongoing war, no hunter flights are available. But there's one seat left on a normal passenger flight. You'll have to travel as part of a team."

Jay doesn't hesitate.

"Book it."

Jay's Home

Jay is packing when his sister walks in.

"Jay, where are you going?"

He answers calmly, "Goa. Hunter Association work."

She narrows her eyes.

"So you're going for work, huh."

Jay lightly pulls her cheek.

"I've let you stay a little too free lately."

Airport

Jay walks into the terminal and bumps into Kabir.

Kabir grins.

"Good news. I'm also assigned to your team."

Jay boards the plane and takes his seat. He waits quietly.

A girl approaches.

"Hi… I'm Daksha."

The moment she sees Jay's cold, unreadable expression, she steps back.

"W-who is he? Why… does he look so scary?"

Kabir smirks dramatically.

"Oh, he's a very bad man."

Jay shoots him a glare.

"Kabir. Don't lie."

Kabir tries not to laugh.

"Fine, fine—he's actually a very powerful hunter."

Daksha fastens her seatbelt but keeps glancing at Jay as if wondering:

Is he even human…?

Inside the Plane

Jay stares out at the glowing runway lights.

Kabir leans forward.

"What are you thinking about?"

Jay answers softly, "The retired hunter in Goa… he might know the truth about my father."

Kabir's expression turns serious.

"You ready for that, Jay? If he really was your father's teammate… the memories won't be easy."

Jay lets out a faint smile.

"Whatever comes… I'll handle it."

The announcement echoes:

"Team members, take your seats."

Two more join them:

Raghav — calm, sturdy, experienced Sia — short hair, sharp gaze, confident

Raghav nods.

"So you're Jay Verma? The one who cleared that S-Rank gate?"

Jay simply nods back.

Sia observes him curiously.

"We were heading to Goa for a simple mission… but with you here, it won't stay simple."

Kabir laughs.

"Nothing is normal when Jay is around."

The plane takes off.

Cabin lights dim.

While the team reviews their plan, Jay opens his diary.

A new glowing line appears:

"A presence from the past awaits you.

The truth will shape the path of war."

Jay frowns.

How does the diary know I'm going to Goa…?

GOA — Arrival

The plane lands.

Night wind, ocean smell, distant waves—Goa feels calm, yet heavy.

Tejus waits outside the terminal.

"Jay sir, the retired hunter sent his location. He's staying in an old training house near the beach."

The team gets into a black jeep.

Daksha whispers to Kabir,

"We're just meeting an old man… but something feels wrong. Like… a huge danger is coming."

Kabir sighs.

"Being near Jay is always safe… and dangerous."

Everyone looks at Jay—silent, staring out at the ocean like he already senses what's coming.

Old Training House

The jeep stops.

A worn wooden house stands alone, waves crashing nearby.

Tejus gestures.

"He's inside."

Jay steps forward and pushes the door open.

The door creaks.

Inside stands an aged hunter—white beard, sharp eyes, body still strong like a former legend.

The old man breathes deeply.

"…So. You're Jay."

Jay nods.

"Yes. You knew my father?"

The old hunter looks straight into Jay's eyes.

Then, with a heavy, calm voice:

"I wasn't just his teammate.

I was his right-hand commander."

The whole team goes silent—shocked.

Jay takes a step closer.

"Please… tell me everything you know about my father."

The old man's gaze deepens.

"Are you ready for the truth, Jay?

Your father was not human.

And the truth about him… will change the entire course of the coming war."

Jay freezes.
