Chapter 30 - Chapter 32

I didn't know whether it was because Nick Fury was worried that Lu Yi might grow impatient, but the information about the general's location was quickly sent to Lu Yi through the radio.

"We've got the location. Can we leave now?" Natasha asked as she took back the radio.

"Alright!"

After saying that, Lu Yi led the group out of the base and toward the fighter jet Natasha had flown in.

"How did you know our jet was here?" Coulson couldn't help but ask curiously.

"Actually, I'm curious too. You seem to know a lot. When we met, you called me by my name immediately, and you know quite a bit about both Coulson and me. Can you explain that?" Natasha asked, somewhat reluctantly.

"It's nothing complicated. You saw my eyes and ears, didn't you? They aren't ordinary. They have extraordinary sight and hearing," Lu Yi replied with a wicked grin, his gaze brazenly falling on Natasha's chest. Natasha could feel his eyes on her, and goosebumps ran across her skin—as if those eyes could see right through her clothes.

Instinctively, she asked, "How strong?"

"They can see through buildings hundreds, even thousands of miles away, and hear sounds from just as far. Something like that."

"See with your eyes? Hear with your ears?"

Natasha quickly crossed her arms over her chest and shifted to cover her lower body as well, looking at Lu Yi warily.

After all, she was a woman—being "seen through" made her feel deeply uncomfortable.

Yuriko, however, had no reaction. To her, everything about herself already belonged to Lu Yi. She was completely open and unbothered.

"Don't worry," Lu Yi said casually, "as long as I don't intentionally focus, there's no problem. My eyes are too sensitive. If I'm not focusing, I only see your bones—like an X-ray."

"That… that's much better," Natasha said, embarrassed.

But she didn't lower her hands.

"I know this may sound rude, but… is there any way to block it?"

"There really isn't!"

Lu Yi wasn't lying. After eliminating the system's weaknesses, lead was no longer an obstacle to his vision. There truly wasn't anything that could block his sight.

"Put your hands down. Your hands aren't as thick as a wall. If I want to see something, it's too easy."

With that, Lu Yi didn't linger. He and Yuriko stepped onto the jet.

Natasha and Coulson exchanged glances, dropped their embarrassment, and quickly followed aboard.

It was just a minor episode. They weren't ordinary people—they recovered quickly.

Lu Yi and Yuriko settled in, and the fighter jet took off.

It shot forward at supersonic speed, heading straight toward the general.

Along the way, Nick Fury had already cleared the route. No one tried to interfere.

The air force didn't send interceptors.

Somehow, many potential complications had been quietly resolved.

After about half an hour of flight, the jet finally began to descend toward a military base.

"Is this it?" Lu Yi asked, glancing at the base.

"Yes, this is the place."

When the general first tried to kill Lu Yi, he had acted so bold—but afterward, he tucked himself away at this military base like a turtle hiding in its shell.

What a coward.

If he didn't have the courage, he should've just said so. Whatever happened, even if he died, it wouldn't be a big loss—but did he really have to drag others into it?

Hiding in a military base—just waiting for Lu Yi to break in. And when that happened, he'd inevitably order the soldiers to attack Lu Yi. What a brilliant plan.

Unfortunately, here we are.

"There might be some trouble next. We need to handle it together," Natasha said to Lu Yi.

She and Coulson had come here to help Lu Yi deal with these complications—to save innocent lives.

"You? Maybe—but you don't have much time left," Lu Yi said casually, though something flickered briefly and strangely in his eyes.

Through the jet's armor, he saw things—things Natasha and Coulson couldn't imagine.

He knew their path wouldn't be smooth.

The jet landed steadily. Natasha and Coulson asked Lu Yi to stay inside for now. They stepped out with their credentials in hand, ready to communicate with the soldiers outside and request evacuation.

But in truth, this was just a formality.

Nick Fury, with his immense influence, had already spoken directly with the President during the flight. He had made it clear: someone had to placate Lu Yi.

To protect himself, the President had decided to abandon the general. Before Lu Yi even arrived, he'd instructed the entire base to cooperate with Natasha and Coulson.

That was how it was supposed to be—on paper.

Natasha and Coulson believed that—at first.

But when they walked out with their credentials, they immediately realized something was wrong.

Before they could even finish speaking, they were surrounded—soldiers with live ammunition pointed their guns at them.

"We have authorized documents. The President—"

"We've received no such orders. All we know is that spies are trying to infiltrate the base. You may very well be those spies," a major stepped forward, cutting Natasha off.

"You…"
