Chapter 1 - Chapter 1 R1:The Lost Spider

As Peter's laughter finally ceased, he looked towards the sky and grinned.

He manically grinned as he swung his fist against the ground, rupturing the entire building and laughing. Peter was no longer the hero everyone looked up to, but a maniac who lost all sense of self. Peter swung to another taller building and stood atop as if he had discovered a hidden truth. The screams echoed across the city as if a symphony to Spiderman.

Neith and the Web of Destiny had felt the first crack. A thread no longer known or connected. Spidermen across the multiverse had their Spidey sense activate for just a moment.

Peter decided that Spider-Man's fate should not be decided, but chosen by themselves.

And so the fun began as Peter leaped off the building and headed towards his first target, "Green Goblin".

The deaths of both Gwen and MJ were the Green Goblin's doing, meant to "break" Spider-Man, yet even then, Peter beat the Goblin and still held back, tossing him into a maximum-security prison run by Shield. Shield had cracked down globally on heroes and villains alike, either putting them on the payroll or throwing them in prison.

-------------------------------------------------

Peter took slow, select steps through the Shield facility. Several guards greeted him as he easily passed through each security checkpoint, deeper and deeper into the prison, as the shouts of criminals and grunts of anger followed him. One criminal noticed the oddness in Spiderman: for one, he had yet to speak, and why did his mask have a massive smile? Several inmates began to see this, yet none spoke, as, for the first time, they felt fear towards Spider-Man—the fear of ending up in the morgue instead of prison.

Green Goblin POV

As Norman was reading a book, the voice returned once more.

"Norman Norman Norman, why didn't you just finish the job against Spider-Man?"

"I never wanted to be a monster like you, but you made me kill those innocent girls right in front of Spiderman!"

"You did that, Norman. Why blame me when you're just as guilty as I?" Hehe

"WHY WOULDN'T YOU JUST LEAVE ME ALONE! IT'S OVER!" Norman slammed his hands against the cell walls.

"You see, Norman, it will never be over until I KILL SPIDERMAN!!!!! Green Goblin roared inside Norman's mind.

Feint foot steps could be heard in the distance. And as Norman turned towards the reinforced glass that reminded him of his captivity.

A originally quiet laugh soon echoed across the depths of the prison. The laugh got louder and louder as the voice of a crazed man spoke.

"Well, WELL WELL, little goblin still trapped in your mind?"

Norman looked up in horror as he saw "Spiderman?"

Spider-Man's grin froze Norman instantly. Even Green Goblin was stunned.

"Didn't you miss me, old friend? Why don't we play another game?" Spiderman signaled to the guards nearby to open the reinforced glass door. The guards, slightly disturbed, opened the glass door. As the mechanism opened, Spiderman stood menacingly staring directly at Norman.

Peter spoke once again, "Why so serious, Norman??

Fear enveloped Norman as Spiderman inched closer and closer. Spider-Man suddenly slammed his foot into Norman's ankle, and a cracking sound echoed.

Norman tensed as the Green Goblin took hold. "Did the Spider finally crack? Was killing Gwen not enough?"

For a moment, Goblin was confused about why he had killed Gwen in the first place, as he didn't understand how she was connected to Spider-Man. However, those thoughts disappeared as quickly as they had come.

Spiderman's grin widened as he grabbed Norman's hand. Snap Snap Snap Snap Snap

"Oh no, I'm all out of fingers, maybe I should try the other hand?" Asked Spiderman in an almost honest tone. Green Goblin looked into Spider-Man's eyes as he realized that this was not the Spider-Man he had known. "Who are you? You're not Spiderman!" Green Goblin raised his voice as a hand clenched around his throat.

Peter spoke in a somber tone, ignited by rage, "I am not Spiderman, I am what's left when the thread finally snaps!"

Flashback

2 Months Before

Peter held Gwen's lifeless body. His hand still holding hers tightly, yet she was already gone. Tears streamed down his face as the weight of his failure stared him directly in the face.

"I don't need visions or gods to tell me. I see it in your very eyes that across the multiverse you always suffer, always sacrifice." Truly so sad hehehe. The Green Goblin mocked Peter for his failure to save Gwen. "I truly enjoyed the moment as I snapped her neck and the life left her eyes. As you knelt beside her, holding her lifeless body, powerless to do anything."

"You know I chose my path, you chose the way of the hero. They found you entertaining for a while, but you know what the people of this city truly delight in?"

"They like to see a hero fall from grace to lose everything. Why do you bother fighting for a city that only uses you? That the little pieces left of "Peter Parker slowly fractures and fades away as Spiderman is all you are and ever will be."

"The one who trades everything for nothing, but an empty house."

Peter looked at Green Goblin with pure rage. He leaped forward and began brutally beating Green Goblin until his mask shattered and his face reddened. Blood poured from his mouth, but Goblin kept smiling, looking directly at Peter.

"Peter, you know killing me won't bring Gwen back, nor will it ever give you peace. If only you had stopped playing pretend hero, she wouldn't have died."

"It wasn't me who killed her, Peter, it was you!" Green Goblin grinned as shield agents took him away.

Peter sat in silence, and at that very moment.

"I see your pain, spider. Do you finally see the truth?" "Fate is toying with you, but there is a way to escape. Just listen a bit longer, and you will choose the cost. I will give you what you crave."

---------------------------------------------------------------

Norman's voice cried out as the sound of meat splattering and bones cracking echoed across the prison. All the other prisoners on this floor hid as far as they could in their cells, for what had happened made them truly fearful. The guards nearby had already called for backup and alerted the avengers.

Spiderman walked out of Norman's cell with a giant smile on his face. Blood dripped from his hands. "Time to clean up the rest of my merry band of friends!!"

Spiderman went cell to cell, ruthlessly slaughtering all the villains who had taken something from him. It could have been something as small as his time or something that threatened his loved ones; he didn't care. He had nothing left worth protecting anymore.

Vulture, Scorpion, Otto Octavius, Kraven, Mysterio, Electro, Prowler, and many more small-time villains. How many times had he caught them, only for the villains to escape, causing more terror and destruction? Only to mock him for his foolish ideals of heroism.

They took his time away from his loved ones, not that he had any left. They hurt and killed the ones he once swore to protect, but now it was different.

As he walked out of the depths of the prison, mass armed shield forces and several of the Avengers stared in horror as Spiderman was covered in blood.

"Just your friendly neighborhood Spiderman," he laughed.

Iron Man, Hawkeye, and Black Widow stared wide-eyed. What had happened to Spider-Man? For him to just walk into one of Shield's facilities and slaughter almost every single villain inside.

"Kid, I am going to need to put you down. I can't have you interfere with my plans," Tony spoke in almost a cold tone.

"I'm tired, Tony, I am tired of all the pain, all the loss, all the sacrifice. All I do is give and give until nothing remains. Gwen, MJ, Aunt May, Uncle Ben, Felecia, and even Miles. "WHY TONY, WHY DO I HAVE TO GIVE UP EVERYTHING, WHILE THE WORLD GETS TO FORGET!" "THEY GET TO MOVE ON AND, yet I am stuck."

"In a perpetual void constantly sinking deeper and deeper." The voices whisper to me, some laugh, some bargain, some demand, and yet I remain."

"I do not seek justice nor do I seek vengeance, all I seek is peace for Spidermen who gave it their all," Peter spoke with the last whips of his mind as the clarity slipped away.

"So if I have to kill you to leave, then so be it!" Spiderman grinned once more and rushed forward.

"You think you can beat me?? You make me laugh," Iron Man spoke first as he fired mini rockets towards Peter. Several tendrils and weapons appeared around Tony as he let loose against Spider-Man.

Hawk Eye and Window follow suit, firing explosive arrows and bullets at Spider-Man.

Spiderman lunged forward, dodging everyone's projectiles with ease, almost like playing a game. Several Shield agents rushed forward, clad in riot gear and blades, as Spider-Man ruthlessly tore them apart. This stunned everyone present once again.

"KILL THIS DAMN BRAT," Tony's voice echoed across the facility. Spiderman had become a danger that needed to be handled.

Spiderman swung around erratically as he picked off shield agents and drop-kicked Hawkeye, sending him crashing into a wall. "Didn't see that one coming, did you?" Spiderman spoke sarcastically.

Tony continued firing repulson blasts as Natasha entered close quarters against Spider-Man. Spider-Man began to get pushed back purely by combat ability, then just punched her full force, sending her flying into a bunch of shield agents.

"That was a little easy...?" Spider-Man was somewhat surprised, then realized he holds back about 99.99% of the time.

Spiderman continued moving forward through the facility as Iron Man and several shield agents continued chasing after him. Shield tried to lock down the facility, but Spider-Man straight-up broke every single door and trap.

{Let me grab a few friends while I am here} thought Spiderman. He grabbed several containers and continued rushing out of the facility.

Spiderman finally breached the outer facility as several heavily armored vehicles awaited him outside.

Iron Man pulled up, "Kid, you don't know what is in those containers. You need to put them down immediately, or else I will end your family."

Spiderman looked up at Tony and smirked," I have no family left for you to kill." in a mocking tone, he added, "No, the game is unfinished and I have a few friends who might wanna join the party!"

Spiderman First Person POV

At that very moment, the canisters cracked under the pressure, and colors surged towards me. I was consumed in Black, Red, Green, Purple, and Gray. Then the voices came.

Red "Well, a new host cares to make a deal?"

Green "TIME FOR NIGHTMARES"

Purple "They will all kneel."

Black: "The Web of lies will be exposed."

Gray "Precision is inevitable."

I spoke, "Look, new friends, but they won't last long!" I watched as the symbiotes began to scream and beg. Soon silence returned to my mind as one singular voice spoke.

Orange "It's time, Peter, to spread MADNESS."

I spoke again, slightly annoyed, "Yeah, yeah, whatever you say, orangie.

I gazed upon the stunned looks of all those around. It was truly wondrous to be admired by so many simple sheep.

Back to 3rd Person POV

Iron Man and Shield alike looked in horror as Spider-Man was merging with five different symbiotes. "This is impossible, I have tested this on hundreds of people, and yet I could never achieve anything besides this damn suit!!!" Tony was enraged by this as he slashed several tendrils at anything surrounding himself—the silver suit squirming slightly at his rage.

An orange pulse fell across the outer shield facility as shield agents fell into utter madness. Even Tony was having a battle trying to stop this "Madness" from overtaking how own. Spiderman smirked, "Don't worry, we will play again sometime, Tony, just not yet.

Massive orange wings appeared behind Spiderman as he launched into the air and took off in the direction of New York.
