Chapter 8 - Chapter 8: Sisters Under Heaven

Lumiel was still on the floor, breathing heavily, her divine flow flickering around her like thin ribbons of light. Her body was sensitive, trembling from the aftershocks, and her face still held a smile of lingering pleasure.

Her entire body was covered in Kagura's white fluids. They had gone through many positions, there were moments where Lumiel was pressed down, her hips raised, Kagura's release refusing to fall, clinging instead.

When Lumiel experienced her release at the same time, it overflowed like a fountain, spreading across her body and splashing onto the nearby floor.

That was just one of the positions they had both experienced.

"Ehehe~~ awnazing, hehe…"

She was overwhelmed by pleasure to the point that her body trembled, tired, spent, yet still expectant.

Suddenly, a younger, cute voice came from outside the door.

A woman who looked like a younger Lumiel opened it while speaking, "Onee-sama, I'm going to the mortal world, don't be ma-"

She pushed the door open mid-sentence, only to freeze as the horrific scene before her came into view.

For a heartbeat, she didn't breathe.

She froze in the doorway, one hand still gripping the frame.

Her sister lay on the floor.

Light scattered around Lumiel in thin, unstable ribbons. Her breathing was uneven, her face flushed in a way she had never seen before. The air itself felt wrong, heavy, charged with a presence that did not belong there.

"O-… Onee-sama…?" Her voice cracked, not from shame, only fear.

Lumiel flinched at the sound.

Her eyes fluttered open, unfocused at first. Awareness rushed back in fragments, sound, light, the weight of her own body against the floor.

"…L-Luna…?" Her voice came out weak, breathy, nothing like her usual calm authority.

She tried to lift herself. Her arm shook, failed, and she had to brace herself back against the floor.

"Don't-" She swallowed, forcing air into her lungs. "Don't come closer yet."

Luna didn't listen.

The door slammed back as she rushed in, her feet sliding harshly as she dropped to her knees beside her sister. Her hands hovered midair, shaking, afraid to touch yet unable to pull away.

"What happened?" Luna demanded, panic tightening her voice. "Your flow feels wrong."

Her eyes darted frantically over Lumiel, searching for wounds, bruises, anything that explained this.

"Who did this?" Luna's fear sharpened into fury.

"Who touched you? Tell me. I'll kill them. I swear!"

Lumiel turned her face away.

Heat burned up her neck as shame struck, sharp and sudden. Not guilt; not regret. Just the unbearable sensation of being seen like this.

"D-Don't…" Her voice trembled. "Don't look at me for a moment…"

She gathered herself slowly. Not erasing anything, only containing it. Scattered light folded inward as control returned in layers: body first, power second, dignity last.

"…I lost focus," Lumiel said quietly at last. "That's all."

Luna frowned, clearly unconvinced. "That doesn't look like nothing."

Lumiel closed her eyes, steadying her breathing until the last tremor faded.

"…Luna," she said, calmer now, though her voice was still soft, "Next time I say stop, please listen."

Luna hesitated, then shook her head.

"You were in this state," she said. "I wasn't going to just leave."

Lumiel opened her eyes.

Worry surfaced, soft, immediate, heavier than the embarrassment. "…I see"

Lumiel's chest heaved, her divine flow still flickering faintly as the last shivers of pleasure subsided. She knew she couldn't waste a moment, this was dangerous. With precise control, she gathered every drop of the white fluid that had covered her, forcing it into a small pot on the side table.

'This… is a useful clue. I can't lose a drop.'

Her body, slowly returning to modesty, was now bare but shrouded again as her robes wrapped around her magically. She tried to stand, but her legs trembled violently; no strength remained. Concentrating, Lumiel lifted herself gracefully with magic, floating steadily above the floor.

Luna hands hovered at her side, instinctively reaching out, eyes wide with concern. She tried to speak, but no words came; her voice caught in her throat. Worry was written across her face, raw and unrestrained.

Lumiel guided herself toward the side door, floating with quiet elegance, a controlled contrast to the earlier chaos. Luna followed closely, hesitant to touch yet unable to stay back.

Once inside the room, Lumiel lowered herself onto the bed with composed poise, crossing her legs with dignity despite the lingering weakness. Her aura now radiated calm authority, even as faint traces of the earlier chaos shimmered around her.

Luna's voice trembled, barely above a whisper. "Onee-sama… should I ask for help from Okka-sama?"

Lumiel's eyes met her sister's, calm but calculating. A faint tension lingered in her gaze, yet her mind raced, weighing every consequence of what had just occurred. She shook her head gently.

"No," she said firmly, her voice soft but unwavering. "This must never reach Okka-sama. Don't speak without thinking."

Luna's eyes widened, guilt flashing across her face. She lowered her gaze, unable to meet her sister's, her small hands tightening in her lap.

"I… I'm sorry," she muttered, barely audible.

Lumiel let out a slow sigh, the tension in her own body easing slightly. A reassuring smile softened her features. She extended a hand, palm up.

"Come here," she said, her tone gentle but commanding.

Luna froze for a heartbeat, then slowly, hesitantly, moved forward. Her steps were careful, unsure, but her trust in Lumiel outweighed her fear.

Lumiel took her sister's hands in hers, guiding her to sit on the edge of the bed. Her fingers threaded gently through Luna's hair, soothing, reassuring, grounding.

"There… it's alright," Lumiel murmured. "I'm here, and I'm safe."

Luna leaned slightly into her sister's touch, trembling but comforted. Amid the chaos, Lumiel herself felt… a rare, grounding warmth.

Luna's hands rested limply on her lap, her breathing still uneven from the shock. She dared to glance up at Lumiel, voice barely above a whisper,

"Onee-sama… but… wasn't that… a… Taboo?"

Lumiel's fingers paused in Luna's hair. Her eyes, calm yet calculating, met her sister's. "…I'm aware," she said softly, tone steady. "That's why we do not speak of it. Not to anyone. Understand?"

Luna swallowed hard, lowering her gaze, heart thudding. "…Y-yes…"

Lumiel smiled faintly, resuming her gentle movements, letting the warmth and touch soothe them both.

"Tell me, why did you come here right now?" Lumiel's eyes softened as her gaze fell on Luna, who was looking back at her.

Lumiel's touch was comforting, and Luna forgot, for a moment, the shock from seconds ago. Her eyes brightened, voice energetic and sharp:

"Onee-sama, I want to go to the mortal world. I would have just gone secretly, but you would have known anyway, hehe."

As a Goddess of Balance and Flow, Lumiel would have noticed any change in energy if Luna descended into the mortal world.

"I was just coming to tell you that, but when I came near the temple, I felt your flow spiking unnaturally," Luna added.

"Luna, you're getting good at sensing energy," Lumiel said approvingly. "But good job not bringing anyone else."

Lumiel expression sharpened. "Are you really going for mortal world entertainment again? You love it too much. How do you plan to go there? Michaela herself would be patrolling right now."

Lumiel's mind raced with caution. 'Michaela? If she's patrolling, how did the attack reach me?'

Luna's lips curved up mischievously. "Just like last time. I'll descend myself without possessing any other mortal body and leave my divine powers near you."

Lumiel sighed. "So that's why you came to me."

Luna smiled, nodding. "Yeah. It's easier with the Goddess of Balance and Flow around."

Lumiel asked, "Aren't you going to spend your academy vacation with your friends?"

Luna's voice rose, tinged with annoyance. "No! They don't understand the amazing things about the mortal world. I explained once, but they just mocked and denied it."

Lumiel laughed softly, using magic to lift a small pouch from the cupboard. It floated into her hands. "Here, pocket money."

Luna was about to smile, then paused, frowning slightly. "Why are you agreeing so easily? Last time you scolded me… and the time before that, I even got punished."

Lumiel's voice softened, gentle yet firm. "This time, it's because I want you to have fun."

Then her tone sharpened, teasing yet commanding. "Or… do you want me to stop you and give you punishment right now?"

'I have to find clues about the attack… find out who did it… but I can't do that with her here.' Lumiel thought.

Luna's excitement won over her caution. She snatched the pouch and beamed. "I really want to go! YAY!!"

Lumiel let out a quiet sigh in her mind. 'Thank goodness this girl is immature. If Atena were here… it would be worse.'
