Chapter 36 - Extra Chapter.

-THE GOD-

"Haaa..." Guiver let out a long sigh.

He was sitting alone on a tree branch, trying to cool himself amid the silence of the forest.

After everything that had happened, this was the kind of moment he longed for.

In the middle of that, Reigh began to ask, "Hey... Do you believe in God?" he asked softly.

Guiver fell silent for a moment, "What now?! Such an absurdly stupid question." he replied curtly.

Reigh just grinned, "I was just curious." he said, "Do you believe in God?"

Watching the falling leaves, "Of course I believe." Guiver replied, "But on the other hand, I also don't."

"Why is that?" Reigh asked again.

Guiver sighed, "Haaa..."

"God is... like Humans who create everything from the beginning." he muttered, "Like Humans who build a house," looking down beneath the tree, "Inside or around a house, there's always something there."

"For example, the furniture inside the house can be likened to mountains, trees, or the things that fill the world. Meanwhile, living beings inside or around it, like humans, animals, or plants, are part of the ecosystem of that creation itself."

Guiver then asked, "Does that House know that it was created by human hands?" He asked Reigh, gazing at the sky blocked by leaves. "Or does it... believe that it was created by God?"

Reigh fell silent for a moment, trying to understand. *Drit. Drit. The friction of branches blown by the wind collided with the chirping of birds *Cit-Cit-Cit.

"Then what's the reason you don't believe in God?" Reigh asked.

"Well..." Guiver replied, "God is also different from humans..."

"If Humans create that House," he muttered, "Then surely Humans will take good care of the House and its surroundings."

"Not with God." Still staring at the towering sky, "He seems to just... let go... And doesn't want to interfere with the chaos in the world He created."

He was not insulting God. He was just speaking like a human who had once felt abandoned.

"So, you're someone who doesn't believe in God?" Reigh asked again.

"I'm not that shallow, rejecting raw facts without trying to understand what I want to know." He leaned his shoulder against the tree, "You could say... I'm Neutral."

"Others can think I believe in God, or that I don't." He closed his eyes, "And I don't care about that."

Deep in his heart, there was a profound disappointment that pierced deeply.

"I've seen and felt the feeling of 'Belief' far too many times..."

However, that didn't mean he completely didn't believe in God.

"I once tried to understand everything," he muttered with his eyes still closed,

"And the more I understood… the more questions appeared."

"One of them, 'Why does God allow chaos to ravage the world He created?'"

Since then, he began to stand in the middle of all of it.

He didn't care what people thought of him. He only stood by his own understanding.

"But..." Reigh began to feel something was off, "What if there's someone evil carrying a weapon, and then wants to take over that house?" he asked, "Wouldn't the owner of the house be unable to do anything?"

Guiver immediately opened his eyes, "Eh?!"

"Eh?" Reigh became confused himself. He didn't know whether that was right or not.

"Enough." Guiver closed his eyes again, "Debating with you never ends."

Leaves fell around him,

*Splsh. One of the leaves hit Guiver's face as he kept his eyes closed.
