Wen Ran tentatively asked, "Are you here to take Hetao home?"
If the wolf wants to take Hetao away, she wouldn't object at all.
You can't make enemies with wolves; they're really petty, holding grudges fiercely, ready to unleash their wrath if offended.
The wolf shifted, stood up, and paced in place a couple of times. Of course, it let out a couple of low howls subtly.
Seems like it wants to communicate with Wen Ran, only cross-species.
Like chickens talking to ducks.
"What does it mean?" Wen Ran was puzzled.
The wolf stayed still, staring at her with its glowing green eyes showing a sense of speechlessness.
If wolves know what being speechless means.
"Who's taking care of Hetao, you or me?"
The wolf pushed Hetao forward, clearly indicating for Wen Ran to take care of it.
Wen Ran was utterly surprised. She knew wolves were smart, but didn't expect them to be this clever.
The wolf stood up and walked to the door, then came in carrying a half-grown deer.
