Chapter 98 - CHAPTER 98 — The Realm That Wasn’t Supposed to Open

Jason Wu had survived deletion, cosmic debugging, a timeline identity audit, and the Administrator's attempt to decide which version of him deserved to exist.

By all accounts, he should've been celebrating.

Or fainting.

Or crying.

Or, at the very least, lying on the ground begging the universe to give him a thirty-minute break.

Instead—

The ground beneath his feet rumbled again.

Jason groaned loudly.

"Oh come ON—can the universe chill for ONE second?!"

Longwu muttered,

["Kid, the universe saw your face and said: 'No.'"]

Lan Yuren froze, spear half-raised.

"Jason… something is forming behind you."

Wei Qing stepped closer, shield glowing faintly.

"It feels… wrong. Like something is forcing its way through."

Jason turned slowly.

The air behind him shivered.

Then cracked.

Then **peeled open.**

Not like a portal.

Not like a rift.

Not like anything they had ever seen.

The tear was *quiet*.

No thunder.

No light.

No energy wave.

Just a soft, wrong sound—

like paper scraping on bone.

Even the First Defier narrowed his eyes.

"…That shouldn't be happening."

Jason pointed weakly.

"Oh good. The cosmic troublemaker is confused. That helps."

The Administrator turned its head sharply.

Then—

For the first time since Jason had met it…

It stepped back.

Wei Qing whispered, horrified,

"The Administrator retreated…?"

The Defier's eyes sharpened.

"No.

It's preparing to intervene without protocol.

That only happens when…"

He didn't finish.

He didn't need to.

The tear widened.

And something stepped out.

Not a creature.

Not a spirit.

Not a cosmic being.

A **realm.**

A whole realm.

A miniature, compressed world—

twisting, rotating, shrinking, expanding—

like a living origami of land, sky, bones, storms, forests, and obsidian rivers.

A floating realm the size of a mountain—

yet somehow infinite inside.

Jason blinked.

"…That's a whole world.

Is that normal?"

"No," Wei Qing whispered.

"That is absolutely not normal."

The Administrator spoke:

"REALM ANAMOLY DETECTED.

LABELING: NULL-REALM.

THIS REALM WAS MARKED FOR PERMANENT SEALING TWENTY-THREE AGES AGO."

Jason frowned.

"Sealed? Why?"

The Administrator answered instantly:

"BECAUSE THIS REALM SHOULD NOT EXIST."

Jason muttered, "Cool. Great. Love that."

Longwu hissed,

["Kid… you're feeling it, right?"]

Jason paused.

Yes.

Something in the air tugged at him—

not violently, not like a threat…

But like a memory he had never lived.

Like a dream he'd forgotten.

A whisper.

A strange familiarity.

"Why does it feel like… I know this place?"

The Defier finally spoke.

"You're not supposed to.

No living being should."

Jason turned to him.

"What is that thing?"

The First Defier's voice lowered.

"That realm is the first world ever erased."

Jason blinked.

"…Erased?"

"Wiped clean.

Removed from the timeline.

Its inhabitants deleted.

Its history overwritten."

Wei Qing swallowed hard.

"The Administrator erased… a whole realm?"

"No," the Defier corrected.

"The Administrator tried.

It failed.

So it sealed it instead."

Jason stared.

"…Okay. That's worse."

The Administrator lifted its hand.

"ALL UNITS: PREPARE TERMINATION OF NULL-REALM."

But then—

The Null-Realm pulsed.

Once.

Just a single ripple.

And every cosmic symbol around the Administrator **shattered.**

Jason flinched back.

"Okay WHAT—?!"

The Administrator fell silent for a full second.

A full second.

Jason whispered,

"…Did it just get stunned?"

Longwu replied,

["Yes. And that should be impossible. I repeat: IMPOSSIBLE."]

The Defier spoke sharply:

"Everyone step back."

Lan Yuren did.

Wei Qing hesitated—then obeyed too.

Jason didn't.

He couldn't.

Because something tugged at him—

a soft pull from inside the Null-Realm.

A faint voice—

not audible, not language—

more like a feeling.

Calling him.

Longwu whispered,

["Kid… this realm is recognizing you."]

Jason blinked.

"…Why would an erased world recognize me?"

The Defier answered:

"Because someone inside remembers the Wu Clan."

Jason froze.

His heartbeat quickened.

"No.

That can't be.

The Wu Clan didn't exist back then.

Not twenty-three ages ago."

Wei Qing grabbed his sleeve.

"Jason—don't get closer. We don't know what's inside."

Jason whispered:

"…Someone connected to me is inside that sealed realm.

Someone erased."

The Administrator stepped forward, projecting tens of thousands of glowing execution sigils.

"THE NULL-REALM WILL BE TERMINATED.

STEP AWAY, JASON WU."

Jason narrowed his eyes.

"No."

The Administrator froze.

"REPEAT."

Jason took a step forward.

"I said no."

Wei Qing gasped.

Lan Yuren muttered, "He's lost his mind…"

The Defier grinned faintly.

The Administrator lowered its hand—slowly.

Almost cautiously.

"REASON."

Jason pointed at the Null-Realm.

"Someone in there knows the Wu Clan.

And I'm not letting you erase them again."

The Administrator's symbols flickered.

"IDENTITY OF RESIDENT UNKNOWN.

MEMORY OF REALM: UNRECOVERABLE.

ENTERING MAY CAUSE CATASTROPHIC—"

Jason cut it off.

"Yeah.

Everything I do is catastrophic.

We've established that."

Longwu snorted,

["Facts."]

Jason inhaled deeply.

"Open it."

The Administrator did not move.

The Defier spoke instead:

"You want to know what's inside?

Fine."

He extended a hand.

Sliced the air.

The Null-Realm widened—

revealing a glimpse inside:

Endless ruins.

Tombs cracked open.

Statues of kneeling warriors.

Fragments of shattered bloodlines.

A throne room half-faded into nonexistence.

And on that throne—

A silhouette.

Head bowed.

Breathing faintly.

Jason's heart nearly stopped.

"…No way."

Wei Qing whispered:

"Who is that?"

Jason's voice cracked.

"I don't know…

…but they're wearing…

…my family's crest."

The emblem of the Wu Clan.

On someone who lived twenty-three ages before the Wu Clan existed.

Lan Yuren stepped back.

The Defier inhaled sharply.

The Administrator's lights surged in panic.

Longwu's voice shook for the first time:

["…Kid…

you're not supposed to meet whoever that is."]

Jason stepped forward.

"But I am."

The Null-Realm pulsed—

and fully opened.
