Chapter 94 - CHAPTER 94 — The Administrator Reacts

The Broken Core Realm did not return to silence.

The moment Jason Wu stood again—unsteady, pale, pulse hammering like a war drum—the *sky changed.*

Not gradually.

Instantly.

The clouds folded into geometric shapes.

The horizon inverted like a page turning itself inside-out.

The sun dimmed, reshaping into a cold silver disc.

Lan Yuren stepped back, sword raised.

"What in the name of the Sovereign Heavens is happening?!"

Wei Qing tightened her grip on her spear.

"Jason, what did you do!?"

Jason opened his mouth—

Longwu cut in sharply,

["OH WONDERFUL. YOU BROKE THE SKY."]

Jason snapped, "I didn't break anything! …Probably."

["THEN WHY IS REALITY HAVING A MID-LIFE CRISIS?!"]

Wei Qing's eyes darted between them.

"You two argue later! Something is descending!"

Something indeed was.

The air froze.

The wind vanished.

A single *tone* vibrated across the realm—

*DONG—*

Not sound.

A command.

Jason's bones thrummed painfully, as though someone knocked on his skeleton from the inside.

Lan Yuren staggered back.

"This pressure… Jason, it's targeting you."

Jason wiped cold sweat from his forehead.

"I noticed."

A tear opened in the silver sky.

Not like a rift—this one was clean, straight, deliberate.

As if cut by a blade sharper than laws.

A figure stepped through.

Tall.

White-robed.

Mask smooth like polished stone.

Eyes two thin lines of cold, immaculate gold.

The Administrator.

Not an illusion.

Not a projection.

A true descent.

Longwu froze—actually froze.

[…Kid. I am going to be honest with you.

We're screwed."]

Jason: "Thanks. Super helpful."

The Administrator did not look at Lan Yuren.

Nor Wei Qing.

Nor the realm.

Only Jason Wu.

Its voice did not echo.

It simply *was.*

"ANOMALOUS SIGNATURE DETECTED."

Jason stiffened.

"…Good evening?"

"YOU HAVE INTERACTED WITH A FORBIDDEN ENTITY."

Lan Yuren's heart lurched.

"We need to get him away—"

The Administrator raised one finger.

Lan Yuren's legs nearly buckled.

Wei Qing choked on air.

The entire realm bent around the gesture.

Jason glared.

"Oh come on! They didn't do anything!"

"THEY DO NOT MATTER."

Jason's face darkened.

"Take that back."

The Administrator tilted its head.

"YOU HAVE ACQUIRED THE DEFIER SHARD."

Jason instinctively covered his right hand—the glowing rune beneath the skin pulsed faintly.

"I didn't *acquire.* It sort of… stuck to me."

The Administrator ignored his sarcasm.

"THAT SHARD CANNOT EXIST IN THIS BRANCH. HAND IT OVER."

Jason blinked.

"…You want me to give you a piece of *my soul*?"

"CONFIRMED."

Jason took a step back.

"Yeah, no."

The Administrator's eyes narrowed.

"NONCOMPLIANCE DETECTED."

Longwu hissed in Jason's mind:

["If it touches you, you're gone. Like 'deleted file' gone. Like I'll be talking to myself for an eternity gone."]

Jason exhaled slowly.

"Administrator. Can we… negotiate?"

"NEGOTIATION IS UNNECESSARY. YOU ARE A CORRUPTED VARIABLE."

Jason winced. "Wow. Rude."

"THE PROTOCOL IS CLEAR. TERMINATION WILL PROCEED."

Wei Qing stepped in front of Jason.

"No. You won't touch him."

Lan Yuren joined her, stance ready.

"He's one of ours. You want him—you go through us."

Jason's stomach twisted.

"No—get back, both of you. You can't fight this thing!"

The Administrator looked at the two humans blocking its path… then dismissed them like dust.

"THEY ARE NOT RELEVANT."

Jason's temper snapped.

He stepped forward, eyes blazing.

"Oh really? Because they're relevant to me."

The Administrator paused—just for a fraction of a second.

"ATTACHMENT DETECTED.

THIS WAS NOT PREDICTED."

Longwu:

["Ha! That's right, you Excel-spreadsheet-wearing clown! He has FRIENDS."]

Jason muttered, "Not helping—"

But it was already too late.

The Administrator raised its hand.

Silver light gathered—heavy enough to make the realm crack beneath their feet.

Wei Qing shouted, "Jason! MOVE!"

Jason tried—but the light pinned him like a fly under a needle.

He coughed blood.

His knees hit the ground.

The Administrator stepped closer.

"THE SHARD IS NOT PERMITTED.

YOU ARE NOT PERMITTED."

Jason's vision blurred.

Longwu screamed—

["JASON! IF YOU HAVE ANY INSANE IDEA, USE IT NOW!"]

Jason snarled through the pain,

"I do have one."

He opened his right hand.

The rune blazed.

Black-gold light erupted—wild, unstable, furious.

The Administrator froze—

"UNAUTHORIZED ENERGY—"

Jason forced himself to his feet.

"I'm done running."

The shard's power surged up his arm.

His voice came from somewhere deeper than his lungs.

"You want it?"

"Come take it."

The Administrator moved instantly—

But so did reality.

The sky *shattered.*

A second rift tore open behind Jason.

A voice echoed through the broken realm:

"STEP AWAY FROM MY SUCCESSOR."

Lan Yuren gasped.

Wei Qing trembled.

Jason turned—

Behind him stood a silhouette of impossible presence:

Not human.

Not beast.

Not god.

The First Defier.

Except…

This version was awake.

Focused.

Radiating pressure more ancient and violent than stars.

The Administrator's golden eyes flickered—

"…UNEXPECTED INTERFERENCE."

The Defier stepped forward.

"React?"

He smiled coldly.

"You haven't even begun to panic."

Jason whispered,

"…Oh. Oh this is bad."

Longwu:

["Correction: This is spectacularly bad."]

The Administrator lifted its hands.

The Defier lifted his.

And reality itself braced for war.
