Chapter 11 - Chapter 11: Pretending to Be Weak and Innocent in Front of Her by Relying on His Profession

"Two yuan?" Evelyn widened her eyes, "Then when will I ever finish paying it back?"

Caden Lockwood curved a devilishly charming smile: "Otherwise, you can pay it all at once."

Faced with only two options, Evelyn's mind was in a mess.

Her math was taught by her music teacher, so even slightly larger addition and subtraction were a super difficult challenge for her.

She couldn't figure out how many years she'd need to pay back two yuan per day.

But when she heard "pay it all at once," she chickened out.

"Can't... you give me a discount?" she mustered the courage to whisper and negotiate.

This bargaining tactic was honestly humiliating enough to be heard by her ancestors, "Wiping off the small change would be great too!"

"No way." Caden glanced coldly at Evelyn's troubled expression, "Are you really trying to outsmart me, someone who earns money with his body?"

Evelyn's lips twitched awkwardly, and in her heart, she cursed Caden Lockwood.

He was clearly a strong man, yet he pretended to be weak and innocent in front of her because of his profession, which was extremely infuriating!

Who's really the miserable one here, huh?

"My time is precious." Caden's cold handsome face remained stoic, "If you plan to default on your debt, I'll go find your headmaster and see if he can help me get it back..."

"Fine! I agree! Installments!" Evelyn replied hastily, "Please keep it a secret! This isn't exactly... a glorious matter..."

As her voice softened, a somber pressure filled the car, the air stifling enough to make one suffocate.

Caden tightly gripped the steering wheel and pulled the car over to the side, glaring fiercely at Evelyn.

"Not glorious?" he enunciated each word with the impact of an exploding atomic bomb.

Evelyn was taken aback, then couldn't help but burst into laughter, her delicate face blossomed like a hibiscus flower.

"Uncle!" she pointed at his exceedingly dark face, laughing so innocently, "Why are you so bossy? Is there no room for negative reviews? Even on Taobao, you can return goods! You're like a tyrant with these terms!"

His cold face twisted slightly. Caden looked down at his unintentionally clenched fist, his palm itching.

He had a strong urge to grab her delicate neck so she would stop laughing.

Yet strangely, his usually unbending character completely lost its principles in front of her.

Though he thought of strangling her, he couldn't get enough of seeing her smile.

Suddenly, her laughter vanished, and with a sigh, she leaned back in her seat, gazing at the sky, looking utterly distressed.

"What's the matter?" He actually sounded concerned.

"Who could still laugh after suddenly being in such a huge debt for no reason?" she sighed and closed her eyes, feeling particularly gloomy.

A glimmer of light flashed in Caden's eyes, and he patted the back of Evelyn's head, making an interesting proposition: "Whenever you guess the reason I charged thirty-six thousand five and also two yuan per day, I'll relieve you of your debt."

"Really?" Her expression immediately brightened, "Uncle, you can't go back on your word!"

Caden raised an eyebrow, "Absolutely not!" The assurance was very ambiguously firm.

Evelyn immediately perked up, starting to make all kinds of guesses.

"Because you're an internationally renowned gigolo, so you charge high?"

"Because you're afraid of not saving money, so you want me to save two yuan for you every day?"

"Because you're kind, seeing I'm poor, two yuan a day won't affect my life?"

After a series of failed guesses, Evelyn's voice was almost hoarse, yet Caden's stern face didn't waver a bit, in fact, it grew even darker.

[PS: Come on, darlings, guess why Uncle Caden charges thirty-six thousand five?]
