"Nancy, how come you have time to come over?"
Nancy Miller knocked on the door and walked in. Miles Miller was sitting at his desk dealing with documents. When he looked up and saw Nancy, he smiled.
Nancy usually wouldn't come by, which left Miles feeling a bit surprised.
"And who is this..."
Miles quickly noticed Holly Sawyer beside Nancy. He looked at the unfamiliar girl and asked, puzzled.
He knew his daughter had a reserved personality and hardly any friends.
"My friend."
Nancy's voice carried coldness and distance, as if the man before her wasn't her father, but a stranger.
"Is there something you wanted, Nancy?"
Miles wore a smile on his face as he stood up and spoke.
Playing the part of a doting father.
"Don't you find yourself fake?"
In front of Miles, Nancy never tried to play the role of a dutiful daughter; she only had indifference towards him.
Miles's smile instantly became stiff. "Nancy, there's someone else here."
