Leo Grant had taken care of his affairs, rubbed his slightly swollen temples, and stood by the window for a while.
He wondered if the little girl was asleep by now.
Leo glanced at the time, it was not yet ten o'clock, the little girl had just woken up not long ago, so she probably wasn't asleep yet, right?
He walked to Holly's room door, knocked, but there was no response from inside at all.
"Holly, are you asleep?"
Leo asked once more, the room inside was silent, not a sound could be heard.
The little girl went to bed too early, didn't she?
Leo called out again, but the room remained quiet.
He reached out to open the door; it wasn't locked, and he easily pushed it open.
The room was dark; he turned on the light and saw the room was empty. The bed was neatly made, and Holly wasn't in the room at all, while the window was open.
Leo frowned slightly, walked to the window, and gazed outside, lost in thought.
