Walking ahead, Cynthia heard Malachi's words from behind, paused slightly, and turned to look at him. She knew precisely what he was thinking and found it amusing, agreeing readily, "Alright, no problem, but prepare your own prey."
Anyway, she hadn't had dinner yet, so making extra for Malachi was no big deal.
After speaking, she carried her basket and walked away.
Rhys, carrying a wooden bucket, followed behind and upon hearing that, his eyes shifted slightly, knowing there'd be delicious food later, a faint smile appeared on his lips, as if a crack had opened on an iceberg.
He said nothing but silently followed along with the bucket.
Corbin and Kian certainly heard this as well. They exchanged a glance, instantly shoving aside any awkwardness, leaving their pride behind.
Each swiftly picked up their two wooden buckets filled with stalactites and caught up, fearing they'd be left without a share of the good food if they were a step late.
