Chapter 18 - Chapter 18: Danger

Tears blurred Samantha's eyes, filled with regret and grievance.

Suddenly.

Through the hazy view, she vaguely saw a black-red Dragon Shadow soaring up from Iron Pine Hills.

The Goblin Wolf Riders in pursuit also saw the black-red Dragon Shadow, their hearts trembled with fear.

Leaving aside the Earth goblins and Bear goblins.

Normal goblins have above-average intelligence, but are notoriously known for bullying the weak and fearing the strong, lacking strong combat organization, preferring to swarm when advantageous, and fleeing when facing a formidable foe.

Goblin Wolf Riders are fiercer than ordinary goblins.

Yet their inherent tendency is still to bully the weak and fear the strong.

Spotting the soaring black-red Dragon Shadow, initially mistaking it for an adult Dragon, they were nearly scared to death.

However, upon a closer look noticing its size.

The fear and dread instantly vanished.

It was just another young dragon.

Great, hunting two young dragons at once, handing them to the tribe's alchemist, would surely enable the crafting of numerous powerful alchemy tools, strengthening the tribe.

The situation stabilized.

The Goblin Wolf Riders were ready, gazing at the Dragon Shadow high above.

"Goblins bully the weak, fear the strong, yet are fiercely vengeful."

"Having decided to attack, not a single Goblin Wolf Rider can remain."

Galos squinted, making an instant decision.

He swooped down from the sky, the metallic structures on his wings glinting in the sunlight like a drawn giant decapitating blade, cutting through the air with a piercing whistle.

Five Poisoned Arrows shot towards Galos's chest and abdomen.

The Red Iron Young Dragon did not dodge, sharp arrowheads striking the rugged black-red Scale Armor, sparking off like they hit an anvil.

—The physique of Dragons cannot be generalized; Galos's Scale Armor is far tougher than that of normal young dragons, unmatched even by adolescent dragons.

The wings flapped, stirring up strong winds, accelerating his dive.

In almost the blink of an eye.

Galos was near the ground, his speed astonishing, far exceeding the goblins' expectations.

"Scatter, quickly scatter!"

Facing the descending, fifteen-meter-long bladed-wing Black Iron Young Dragon, the Goblin Wolf Riders felt a huge threat, immediately scattering to dodge the Dragon's impact.

Yet their reaction was a step too slow.

The front-line Goblin Wolf Riders couldn't even look up in time.

Galos's Dragon Wings swept across like a guillotine.

Helmed heads and torso sheathed in leather armor... split bodies soared upwards, crimson blood sprayed from the severed surfaces staining the post-rain mud dark red.

One dive.

Half of the Goblin Wolf Riders perished.

Blood like a waterfall continued to spill from the wings, Galos spiraled upwards, twisting his body to dive again.

His first attack had terrified the Goblin Wolf Riders, sending them scattering, too scared to confront.

Nonetheless, every race has its anomalies within.

A Goblin Wolf Rider seemed to realize the futility in fleeing, shouting, "Don't panic! Don't panic!"

The cries were drowned by the gale from the young dragon's wing flaps, failing to awaken the fellow kin; even its gray Giant Wolf, ridden, tucked its tail in fear of Dragon Power, not daring to charge.

Gritting its teeth.

This level 5 elite Goblin Wolf Rider leaped from its wolf mount.

Instead of fleeing, it grasped its battle knife weapon, quickly rushing towards Galos, leaping high, gripping the metal-forged battle knife with both hands, slashing at the dragon's head.

"Great Magnubia, witness me and grant me courage and power!"

It shouted in goblin language, praying to the Divine Spirit of goblin-kind.

Smack!

Galos casually swiped the goblin aside.

The dreadful force crushed it, instantly smashing the goblin mid-air, meat and organs splattered in a radiating mess on the ground, dying in a tragic state.

The surviving Wolf Riders completely collapsed, erratically fleeing.

A minute later.

The shadow rapidly solidified, Galos descended, pressing a claw onto a goblin's head, crushing it along with the gray wolf mount beneath.

Thus, all Goblin Riders were annihilated.

Magic-like skills, Dark Gold Tail Ring, Dragon Breath—he hadn't even used any of these yet.

The surviving gray wolves tucked their tails, trembling all over, afraid to move.

"We can keep them as backup food."

Galos thought to himself, deciding not to kill these beasts directly.

Then, Galos swung his Dragon Wings, stirring up a fierce wind that scattered the clinging flesh and blood around him.

He turned to look at Samantha, who was collapsed on the ground.

On the other side, Samantha's eyes reflected the silhouette of her brother, shrouded in a blood mist.

The steaming heat from his Scale Armor mixed with the smell of blood. His wings were wide and massive, limbs and body thick and strong. The muscles beneath the Dragon Scales must be like cast iron, full of the beauty of strength, robust and mighty.

Meanwhile.

The ground suddenly began to rumble.

Samantha turned to look and saw an Earth Bear, bearing a wild ox on its shoulder, striding swiftly towards the young dragon's location.

"An Earth Bear of level 8! We're doomed."

Samantha was filled with despair.

She didn't believe Galos could defeat the Earth Bear, and the bear was clearly headed straight for them.

"Galos, my dear brother."

"I apologize for my arrogance and foolishness all these years."

Samantha began to sob, shouting, "I can't fly anymore, don't worry about me, just escape, the Earth Bear can't fly, it won't catch up to you."

Watching Samantha cry out in distress.

Galos pondered that this young dragon must have suffered a lot in the wilderness, and now probably understands the harshness of reality.

"Run, what are you waiting for?"

Samantha urged through her tears.

Meanwhile.

The Earth Bear Möbel first glanced oddly at the red young dragon, then ignored it, accelerated his run, and finally skidded to a halt, leaving a long trench in the soft ground, stopping steadily in front of Galos.

"My Lord, please enjoy your meal."

The Earth Bear offered the wild ox it carried, speaking in a coarse voice.

Upon hearing this, Samantha's sobbing ceased abruptly, like a rooster grabbed by the throat.

"Möbel is one of my Followers, there's no need to be afraid."

Galos' explanation came a few seconds late, whether by accident or intentionally.

"Galos, my dear brother, thank you, from now on, I am willing to obey your command and follow under your wings."

Samantha regained her composure and lowered her head to Galos.

Galos sized her up and said, "You've made the right choice."

Surviving in the wilderness is tough, filled with danger, having a young dragon under his command is beneficial for Galos too.

He'd gladly accept a young dragon willing to obey commands and follow him, but if one doesn't comply, bringing only trouble and treating him like a nanny, Galos wouldn't tolerate it.

"What have you experienced during this time? Tell me."

He asked.

Samantha didn't hold back, recounting her painful experiences over this time.

After hearing, Galos clicked his tongue, inwardly calling her foolish.

No wonder the situation was so miserable.

With the might of a red dragon, even a young one, she shouldn't have fallen to the point of being hunted by goblin riders, unable even to fly.

Turns out, her Dragon Wings were torn early on, leaving her severely injured.

"Even I dare not hover near the mines. I would steer clear once I spot them from afar."

"You are truly reckless."

Resource-rich mines under excavation fall within the territories of the various nations in the Lothern Federation, where military forces are stationed, equipped with exquisite Alchemy Equipment, a place even Iron Dragon Lady dares not lightly provoke.

The most dangerous in the wilderness are not the fierce beasts or magical creatures, but these stationed troops.

"I was too reckless; such things will never happen again."

Now recalling, Samantha is still shaken.

She was in the sky a thousand meters high, far away, and almost got killed, a little closer then, and she'd have been surely dead.

At this moment.

Galos' eyes twitched slightly, turning his gaze, noticing something subtly glinting in the hand of a goblin's carcass under the sunlight.
