Chapter 29 - Chapter 29: The Cunning Evil Dragon!

"A teenage Brass Dragon at life level 7."

Galos fixed his gaze on the Brass Dragon flying straight towards him like a crimson sandstorm, and using the life level investigation technique, confirmed that its life level was the same as his.

Teenage dragon.

A dragon aged between 16 and 25 years.

Galos couldn't precisely determine its age, but judging by its roughly nine-meter length, it fell into the category of teenage dragons, or possibly it was a precociously developed young dragon, though the probability was low.

As for why the teenage dragon's life level was the same as his, a young dragon.

The reason was simple.

The constitution of dragons cannot be generalized.

Within the Dragon Race hierarchy.

Whether Red Dragon or Iron Dragon, they both stand among the top dragon species.

Whereas Brass Dragons rank low among Metal Dragons, at the same age, their life level can't match that of Red Dragons or Iron Dragons, much less compare with an exceptional hybrid like Galos. A teenage Golden Dragon, for instance, would at least be level 9.

The Brass Dragon didn't dive directly to attack Galos.

On the contrary.

It slightly circled before finally landing on a charred rocky platform.

About a hundred meters away from Galos, its spiral horns reflected the noonday sun.

It tilted its head to scrutinize Galos's cracked scale armor.

The tip of the Brass Dragon's tail tapped the ground rhythmically as it paced back and forth, weighing its options.

The Red Iron Half-blood Dragon was nearly 7 meters long, at life level 7, not as long as itself but very strong, and heavens, its dragon wings looked like a pair of lethal weapons, certainly harboring a very evil interior.

Not someone easy to provoke.

But I have three alchemy tools gifted by my parents, more than enough to deal with a foolish evil dragon of the same level.

After a few seconds of pondering.

The Brass Dragon's mouth curled into a pleased smile; it paused its steps, and staring at Galos, said, "Oh, inherently evil Red Iron Half-blood Dragon, it's question time now."

"Please tell me, what requires both extinguishing fire and rust removal to stay alive?"

Among the five types of Metal Dragons.

Brass Dragons and Copper Dragons have the most annoying personalities to other dragons.

Brass Dragons are excessively talkative and conversational, enjoying tormenting opponents with words, often subduing them when at an advantage, perhaps burying them with only their head exposed and forcing them to listen to their chatter.

Copper Dragons aren't as chatty as Brass Dragons.

But they particularly enjoy teasing and toying with enemies using self-perceived humorous jokes, rather than engaging in immediate combat.

If one is unfortunate enough to offend a Copper Dragon in the wild, offering it an interesting joke, story, or riddle has a great chance of earning its forgiveness, or even its appreciation and favor.

Meanwhile.

The Copper Dragon giggled.

"The answer is—you! The explosiveness of a Red Dragon combined with the rigidity of an Iron Dragon, it's simply the worst possible mix."

Its voice, clear to dragon ears, resembled a wind chime in the desert, and its relatively slender and well-proportioned form indicated it was a female Copper Dragon.

As it spoke.

The Copper Dragon's body crouched slightly, its limb muscles taut, ready for action.

The alchemy tool pressed under its tongue was ever ready to be activated, intended to deliver a head-on blow to the enraged Red Iron Half-blood Dragon charging at it.

But what the Copper Dragon didn't expect was.

The evil dragon in front of it didn't play by the rules, neither reacting to such provocation nor losing composure, instead directly flapping its dragon wings, soaring into the sky, and flying away into the distance.

Galos paid no attention to the Copper Dragon, nor was he interested in entangling with it.

Metal Dragons place great importance on familial bonds.

When teenage dragons venture out on adventures, they usually acquire gear bestowed by elders or life-saving spells etched inside their scale armor, often more than just one item.

With just a glance.

Galos noticed the Copper Dragon wearing a large golden chain around its neck, with a red ring hanging at the wingtips, all glimmering faintly in the sunlight, with densely packed runes faintly visible on them.

These were the items that could be directly seen.

Who knew if this guy had any hidden alchemy tools or life-saving magic scales?

Copper Dragons, unlike Golden Dragons, don't prefer overtly dominating combat, having a sly and insidious nature, similar to Green Dragons among Five-Colored Dragons.

Unless the stakes were significant or life-threatening, Galos wouldn't engage in battles he wasn't confident in winning.

"Hey! Are you an exceptionally cowardly evil dragon? Don't run!"

The Copper Dragon was initially stunned but then flapped its dragon wings to rise, relentlessly pursuing Galos.

To its surprise, its speed was significantly inferior to Galos's, whose body seemed bulky and heavy, yet the massive and exaggerated wings could bear the load, providing incredible flying power.

The distance between them rapidly widened.

"Such speed."

Its competitive streak awoke, the Copper Dragon was determined to see the wicked Red Iron Half-blood Dragon brought to justice.

The fiery red ring hanging from its wingtip, its runes lit up one by one.

The colors became vibrant, the high temperature causing the surrounding air to warp.

The fiery red ring turned into a glowing red-hot iron.

Whoosh!

A plume of flame ignited, rapidly extending and radiating, spreading onto the Copper Dragon's wings, enveloping them in a layer of flowing fire.

As the wings flapped, blazing flames soared.

The speed of the Copper Dragon surged.

Galos glanced back, noting the current state of the Copper Dragon's Flowing Fire Dragon Wings.

"An alchemy tool that can attach flames, somewhat similar to my Lightning Tail Ring."

He pondered.

"Want to......try its level first."

A dangerous glint flashed in Galos's eyes.

Suddenly he turned around, the Red Iron Young Dragon opened its mouth and unleashed.

A cone-shaped burst of flaming and electric, like countless flowers blooming quickly, erupted from his mouth, fast and precise, slicing through the air, shooting towards the Copper Dragon.

Unprepared, the Copper Dragon found itself at close range when it reacted to the Electric Fire Dragon Breath, inherited from the Iron Dragon bloodline.

In pure destructive capability, the Electric Fire Dragon Breath might not match the Flames Dragon Breath of a Red Dragon, but its speed and paralyzing effect made its practical impact better than a Flames Dragon Breath.

In that critical moment.

The golden chain around the Copper Dragon's neck suddenly glowed.

A golden shield appeared on its body, coating the surface of its scale armor.

Sizzle!

The Electric Fire Dragon Breath struck the golden shield, and its electrical and flame damage was blocked, causing the golden shield to rapidly dim.

The Copper Dragon shifted sideways, narrowly dodging the follow-up Electric Fire Dragon Breath with a lingering sense of fear.

Yet it wasn't afraid; it continued its pursuit of Galos.

Galos's breath attack couldn't penetrate its defense, surprisingly making it more confident it could surely defeat Galos.

"You insidious and evil guy, sneak attacks are useless against absolute power."

The Copper Dragon snorted lightly, thinking to itself.

Arrogance and conceit are common ailments among dragons, and Metal Dragons are no exception; it's not unique to Five-Colored Dragons or Iron Dragons.
