Su Mu was on the deck admiring the seascape, the slightly salty sea breeze rushing toward him. As far as the eye could see, there was only blue and a vast expanse of white.
Even a hundred-meter-long ship seemed like a drop in the ocean.
As time passed, much of the mist over the sea dispersed. It was already dusk; the setting sun in the west cast a glow over the sea, shimmering brilliantly, yet such beauty is fleeting.
In the blink of an eye, the sky, like a vast black mouth, swallowed everything, leaving the world in darkness. Between heaven and earth only the scattered lights of the fleet remained.
After watching on the deck for a day, Su Mu felt a sense of boredom. The days at sea were not as interesting as imagined. Most of the time was spent advancing on an endless ocean, with the most common sounds being the ship breaking through the water and the howling sea breeze.
Everything repeated like this, and time seemed to lose much of its meaning at sea.
