doors open
"Hi! My name is Tina and I will be asking you a few questions in this interview" said a young reporter.
As it's fine by me I only nodded and pointed towards a couch for her to take a seat.
"Now, first question. How does it feel having a bestseller yet being the most hated writter?"
Wow... Such a strong question right away...
"To be honest? Great."
from her expression I could tell it wasn't an answer she thought she was going to get.
"And why is that?"
Maybe I had my hopes set too high...
"It means I get the attention I need, right? Also no great artist comes without a bit of hate."
her gaze glanced at mine
"That may be true, however you have to agree with the fact that what you write may seem. How do I put this... 'uncomfortable' for some."
The show starts now...
"And is that necessarily wrong? We live in times where no one can have their own opinion or point of view without getting any criticism. It doesn't move me what others write about me but I know that what I write moves them and that's enough for me. For we live in times too comfortable for our own good and someone needs to remind people, that life isn't all sunshine and rainbows. Do I do this to irritate people? No. I do this to share my own thoughts, what I see on daily basis what others seem to ignore because 'it doesn't affect them' actively at least. Every each one of us is a selfish bastard and there's no point in hiding it. I am one too. But the difference between me and others is that I am open minded to learning new things, even if I don't end up agreeing with someone's ideology I may respect it and get something out of it."
first time nothing came out of her mouth for a brief moment
"That's objectively correct but it's not all about rationalizing-"
I stopped her by speaking out
"Indeed. Without these emotional morons I wouldn't be where I am now and neither would be powerful figures... Heck! Even presidents wouldn't be where they are now haha!"
at this point she looked a little bit scared...
"Alright... Well, even your critics say you 'do too much, but in the wrong directions'. What do you have to say to that?"
Now for the final act...
"People that read casually and critics that have a 'genre' they prefer will not enjoy and even hate on someone's creation. This issue has been with humanity since forever with any type of entertainment from sports, literature to even video games. Critics prefer something that isn't too 'mind blowing' or 'life changing'. They are even more of a casual reader than a freshman in high school who never touched a book. They, compared to any other person, should be upmost open minded in terms what a message was written rather than say that 'they didn't enjoy the complexity' or 'I don't recommend cause it's different'. If those are the types of reviews one gets then it's not the author's fault but the reviewer's who didn't come prepared and was stuck in their comfort zone of things they know and are not open to discover different ideologies... And you may say it's my truth but to be honest... Is there really such thing as truth? Can't one be made up based on subjective or objective opinions?"
Eyes widen with an uncertain expression
"I suppose... To me what you say is comepletely out of the ordinary that I don't want to listen to any of it, however you do make a good point there..."
And with that, the play has ended...
