"Liam sweetie," Alina said loudly the moment she appeared inside the living room.
He was sitting comfortably on Damian's lap in nothing but his white singlet and his uniform shorts, his small legs dangling lazily as though he had made himself completely at home there.
The moment her voice reached him, Liam immediately jumped down from Damian's lap, almost losing his balance in the process, but Damian was quick to steady him on his feet before he could tumble forward.
Alina's smile widened the instant he ran into her arms and she caught him easily, lifting him up before pulling him into a warm embrace.
"Awwww, I missed you," she whispered, pressing a light kiss against his soft black hair as his little hands tightened around her neck like he did not want to let go anytime soon.
"Me too," Liam murmured as he pulled back slightly with a bright smile on his face, his cheeks round and warm from excitement.
