Reed's POV
Stewart shifted uncomfortably, his eyes darting toward me. "Look, the Keller family might not carry the same weight as the Gould family these days, but Lorelei's still my flesh and blood.
"I won't have her labeled as some man's side piece. If marriage isn't in your plans, I'll find her someone who will, and I'd rather you stay out of it."
His voice hardened as he continued, "But if you're serious about wanting her as your wife, then you need to end things with your current one. Soon.
"Truth is, having my daughter marry a divorced man isn't exactly ideal, but she's completely smitten with you. I can't stand by watching her reputation get dragged through the mud because of this situation."
I fixed Stewart with a steady stare, my fingers tightening around the cup handle.
Just like I suspected. He's looking to use Lorelei as a pawn again, all to benefit the Keller family interests.
