Lilian's POV
I shoved Rosie backward, though I held back my strength since she was in her sixties. The elderly woman stumbled, nearly losing her balance until Vance caught her arm and steadied her against his chest.
His eyes turned glacial as they fixed on me. "Lilian, control yourself."
Before I could respond, Daisy's palm connected with my cheek in a sharp crack that echoed through the room. The sting spread across my skin like wildfire.
"You rob an old lady and still act righteous?" Daisy's lips curled into a cruel smile. "How dare you lay hands on her?"
My hand flew to my burning cheek, eyes blazing with fury as I stared her down. She merely laughed at my expression.
"Glare all you want, it changes nothing. Just so you know, Armand bolted the second the party ended. Don't expect your knight in shining armor to rescue you."
The servants began their vicious chorus around us, their voices cutting through the air like knives.
