Chapter 121 - Chapter 122: Good Evening

Gisei muttered a word, and a swirling ball of chakra appeared in his palm.

The Rasengan (Spiraling Sphere).

He held it high, and a moment later, the sphere of chakra began to expand.

From within his consciousness, Shiraishi Gisei frantically shouted, "Idiot, he hasn't entered the trap yet! If he turns around and runs, we won't be able to catch up. What happens if the intelligence gets out?"

Tsunade knew he could use the Rasengan. Given the alliance between Konoha and the Hidden Waterfall Village, if they asked Konoha to assist in an investigation, he wouldn't be able to deny it.naruto.fandom

"...Why didn't you say so earlier!"

Gisei quickly dissipated the Rasengan. Fortunately, it had only just begun to expand, so the jinchūriki chasing them would have seen nothing more than a brief flash of light.naruto.fandom

Five hundred meters behind, the jinchūriki, Tsukasa, who had been closely following Gisei, suddenly opened his mouth and began to condense a Tailed Beast Bomb.

Sensing the massive chakra fluctuation, Gisei immediately began flying erratically, swerving up and down.

A moment later, the Tailed Beast Bomb shot toward him with unstoppable force.

Fortunately, his evasive maneuvers were effective, and the Tailed Beast Bomb flew past, almost grazing his body.

A hill not far ahead was directly blasted into dust by the attack, and a blazing fire filled the world, accompanied by a deafening roar.

Gisei frowned and muttered, "I can't get hit by something like that, or I'll be turned into slag in an instant."

Forming a seal with one hand, lightning as fluid as water lit up his body, becoming more intense a few seconds later. All the lightning gradually condensed into a single point, and a few seconds later, a beam of light compressed to its absolute limit was suddenly released.

Seeing the beam, Tsukasa quickly flew upward to dodge, but to his surprise, the beam actually turned in mid-air and followed closely behind him.

"Is this Storm Release? A guided ninjutsu?" (Ranton)

No matter how fast he flew, he couldn't outrun the speed of a laser. In his desperation, he could only shift his body slightly and use his Version 1 Tailed Beast cloak to take the beam head-on.

The hardness of the Tailed Beast cloak was beyond imagination. Even the Storm Release, with its piercing power maximized, couldn't break through it, only knocking him back several dozen meters.

"Is this all you've got?" Tsukasa sneered and continued his pursuit.

After releasing the beam, Gisei didn't even look back and just flew wildly. He knew that Storm Release couldn't seriously injure a jinchūriki in their Tailed Beast form; he just needed to create some distance.

The chase in the sky continued.

Whenever Tsukasa was about to catch up, Gisei would use Storm Release to knock him back. Even when Tsukasa tried to use a Tailed Beast Bomb, Gisei would interrupt him with another blast of Storm Release.

Eventually, Tsukasa simply stopped trying to counterattack. After being knocked back, he would just continue chasing. As a jinchūriki, he didn't believe that the person ahead could possibly have more chakra than he did.

Especially since that person had to fly while constantly releasing ninjutsu. Even a jinchūriki couldn't sustain that kind of chakra consumption for long.

Another ten minutes passed, and the figure ahead was flying slower and slower. Tsukasa sneered inwardly. Is his chakra finally running out?

Gisei suddenly dove toward the ground and landed, beginning to flee on foot. Tsukasa's eyes lit up. He followed the figure closely from the sky, waiting for the right moment to land directly in front of Gisei, blocking his escape route.

"This ends here. Surrender!"

Gisei stopped and sighed dramatically. "Do you really think that's possible?"

"You shouldn't have much chakra left. In your current state, you can't possibly be my opponent. I am a jinchūriki."

Gisei laughed. "Of course I know you're a jinchūriki—and a very stupid one at that. I was actually looking for you. It's truly disappointing that you don't even realize you've fallen into a trap."

Trap?

Tsukasa looked around warily. Half a minute later, he flew into a rage out of humiliation. "My sensory abilities aren't bad. You're the only one here. How dare you trick me? You're asking for death!"

A dark red figure flashed through the air, seven tails whipping around him like tentacles. Tsukasa chose to engage in close-quarters combat, wanting to capture this person who attacked his village alive for interrogation.

Gisei shook his head. "So stupid. Well, let's end this quickly. This really isn't that interesting."

His breathing tightened slightly, and Gisei's figure vanished from Tsukasa's sight.

Tsukasa only saw a flash of lightning before the person in front of him disappeared. Before he could recover, Gisei's voice rang out from behind.

"Over here!"

Tsukasa only had time to turn his head slightly before a fist wreathed in blazing lightning smashed into his face.

The punch didn't cause much damage; the Tailed Beast cloak protected him constantly.

Gisei hadn't expected to take down a jinchūriki with one punch. The moment Tsukasa flew backward, Gisei pressed his advantage and began to relentlessly beat him.

Tsukasa manipulated his tails to counterattack but couldn't find Gisei's figure at all, forced to passively endure the one-sided assault.

After landing nearly a hundred punches, Gisei frowned and stopped his attack.

The Tailed Beast cloak had been protecting the jinchūriki the whole time. Even after such a long beating, Tsukasa didn't seem to be seriously hurt.

It seemed he had to change his method.

Tsukasa struggled to get up. Gisei's attacks weren't completely ineffective; while the semi-Tailed Beast transformation was powerful, it was a double-edged sword. While protecting him, it also increased the burden on his body. He had nearly been beaten out of his semi-Tailed Beast form.

The enemy in front of him was strong, unimaginably strong. His speed on the ground was like real lightning; Tsukasa couldn't track his figure at all.

At this moment, he suddenly noticed lightning flashing everywhere on the ground, and steel wires glinting coldly in the moonlight.

Was this the trap? Did the enemy rely on these wires to achieve that speed?

There was no time to hesitate. With a slight push from his feet, Tsukasa launched himself toward the sky.

"Did you notice? It's already too late."

After flying up about a dozen meters, Tsukasa stopped.

Above his head, dense black shadows covered almost the entire sky.

"Are these... butterflies?"

Tsukasa suddenly looked down at Gisei. "You... are you a member of the Aburame clan from Konoha?"

"You're not stupid after all. Looks like I'm exposed. Hmm... better switch people."

After his body stiffened for a second, Shiraishi Gisei regained control. He waved at Tsukasa, who was still hovering in the sky.

"Yo, good evening. Allow me to introduce myself. I am Gisei Shiraishi, the current head of the Aburame clan."

Tsukasa's face was a storm of conflicting emotions. "Konoha... actually attacked the Hidden Waterfall? Why? Aren't we allies?"

Gisei scratched his head. "This is my personal action; it has nothing to do with Konoha. Of course, you won't believe me even if I say that, but it's the truth."

"Alright, let's not waste each other's time. If the other Hidden Waterfall ninjas chase us here, I'll have to go through the trouble of killing them all. So, for the sake of your comrades, can you just surrender?"

"What kind of joke is this!"

Amidst a roar of rage, Tsukasa began to condense a Tailed Beast Bomb. Just then, several butterflies flew past his eyes, and immediately after, Gisei's figure appeared directly in front of him.

Tsukasa's pupils constricted. Just as he was about to release the Tailed Beast Bomb, Gisei's fist struck his abdomen, knocking him directly to the ground.
