As Allen Harris inspected the dilapidated old house, a loud cracking sound echoed, and a disheveled-looking house elf appeared before them .
As Allen Harris examined him with interest, he thought, 'That must be Kreacher .'
He was almost completely naked except for a dirty piece of cloth tied around his waist, similar to those worn by men in tropical countries.
He looked very old; his skin seemed several times larger than his body needed. Although his head was bald like all house elves, a large tuft of white hair sprouted from his two large, bat-like ears.
His eyes were bloodshot, watery and dull gray; his fleshy nose was large, almost like a pig's snout.
"Ah, Young Master!" Kreacher's pale eyes widened, but the glare he directed at Sirius was filled with deep hatred.
Kreacher instantly bent down deeply, his body lowered so much that he looked almost comical, his large, pig-nose-like nose pressed against the ground.
Then, in a low but extremely clear voice, he said , "Young Master, he is a vile, ungrateful wretch who broke his mother's heart; oh, my poor Lady , she had sworn to disown him, and now he has returned, and they say he is a murderer..."
Allen Harris stifled a laugh and looked at Black ; he could almost see the veins throbbing in Black's forehead .
"My mother had no heart, Kreacher ," Sirius said angrily, "She lived entirely on hatred."
"Whatever the young master may say," he grumbled angrily, "the young master is not even worthy of wiping his mother's soles. Oh, what would my poor mistress say if she saw him? How much she hated him , how disappointed he was—"
Kreacher lowered his head again as he spoke.
"Get up," Sirius said impatiently. "Okay, what do you want?"
" I am guarding the lady's house ," repeated the house elf , " Kreacher will serve the noble Black Family for life—"
The house elf stood up and glared at them angrily; he clearly thought they couldn't hear him, for he continued to murmur.
"The prodigal son brought a brat with him, Kreacher doesn't know his name. What is he doing here? Kreacher doesn't know..."
"Alright, are you satisfied now? Get out of here, Kreacher ," Sirius said coldly.
The house elf stared at Black incredulously , as if afraid of disobeying a direct order.
But as he slowly walked away, a cry that shook the ground erupted: " My lady , look, Young Master, that murderer has returned from Azkaban and brought a brat with him."
" Kreacher must protect this house, Kreacher will never let the Young Master and that brat destroy it—" he continued to wail as Kreacher turned the corner and disappeared from sight.
"Shut up, Kreacher ! If you cry again, I'll actually commit murder!" Sirius shouted angrily.
Seemingly wanting to vent his anger, he grabbed an umbrella stand and threw it in Kreacher's direction .
"Oh, damn, I forgot—"
Before Black could finish speaking, he was choked by a terrifying, deafening, and bloodcurdling scream.
Two moth-eaten velvet curtains suddenly parted as they were finally freed from the weight of the umbrella stand.
But there was no door behind them.
For a moment, Allen Harris thought it was a window, and behind it he saw an old woman wearing a black hat, screaming desperately, as if she were being tortured.
Allen Harris later realized it was a life-size portrait, but he had never seen such a realistic and disturbing portrait in his life.
The old woman was drooling, her eyes were rolling, and the sallow skin on her face was taut from screaming.
In the hallway behind them, the other portraits also awoke and began screaming; the sound was deafening.
Allen Harris reacted quickly, running to the old woman's side in two or three steps and trying to cover her by closing the curtains, but he couldn't budge them.
The old woman's screams became even more piercing, and she brandished her claw-like hands as if she wanted to scratch the man's face.
"Shut up, you disgusting old witch, shut up!" Black quickly lunged upstairs and grabbed the curtains.
The old woman's face turned deathly pale.
"You—you!" She widened her eyes and screamed as soon as she saw Sirius , "Wasteful son, disgrace to the family , the disgusting creature I gave birth to!"
"Shut up!" roared Sirius , and he and Allen Harris used all their power to slam the curtains shut again.
Allen Harris, pointing his magic wand towards the distant umbrella stand , said, "Accio umbrella stand."
The umbrella stand flew straight towards him.
Allen Harris grabbed the umbrella stand. It was very heavy! He was caught off guard and almost dropped it.
On closer inspection, he noticed the umbrella stand was unusual; it was made from a troll's leg bone , so its immense weight wasn't surprising.
The old woman's screams stopped when he leaned the umbrella stand against the curtains.
But the portraits around were still screaming.
Allen Harris used his wand to cast the stunning spell on the other portraits as well , and a long silence fell over the room.
"Well done!" Slightly breathless , Sirius pushed back the long black hair that was covering his eyes and looked at Allen Harris.
"Allen," he said with a serious expression, "Now you've met my mother."
Allen Harris, not knowing what to do, had to pretend to be naive: "Yours?"
"Yes, my dear, good mother," said Sirius , " she banished me from the Black Dynasty ."
"Why did he hang his portrait here?" asked Allen Harris.
"Perhaps, like Kreacher , he's protecting the oldest and noblest of the Black House . I've always wanted to defeat him, but he seems to have cast a permanent spell of adhesion to the back of his portrait canvas. Maybe I should go to Knockturn Street to find a special remedy to break that spell ."
Allen Harris noticed that Sirius's tone of voice was very harsh and cold.
But after drinking the ability potion , Allen Harris, whose intuition and perception had fully developed, sensed that reality was not as it seemed.
The colder Sirius appeared on the outside, the more pain he suffered inside.
Just like the old woman in this tapestry. Allen Harris turned his head, his gaze seemingly trying to pierce through the curtain to see the portrait inside.
Clearly, he wanted to see his son at the first opportunity, but he couldn't help but utter curses to alleviate his anxiety.
Sirius walked to the other end of the room; there, a worn, dirty tapestry covered the entire wall.
Allen Harris followed him and examined him carefully.
The tapestry looked very, very old; its colors were faded, and it showed signs of being bitten in several places by Doxie's dogs.
However, the gold thread embroidered on it still gleamed, and Allen Harris could clearly see a vast family tree stretching all the way back to the Middle Ages .
Several large characters were embroidered on the upper part of the tapestry:
Black's Oldest and Most NobleHouse
Always pure
