TESSA.
My brain felt like a tangled rope, knots twisted into knots, thoughts looping in circles with no ends in sight. Everything around me suddenly felt too big, too loud, too unfamiliar. The house, the marble floors, the bright chandelier glittering above, it all pressed in on me like it wanted answers I didn't have, and with the lady standing before us who was already getting on my nerves, I needed space.
A place to breathe.
A room that belonged to me, or at least… used to.
So before doubt could creep in, I turned to Robert and said the one thing that suddenly mattered more than every unanswered question burning holes in my mind.
"Take me to our bedroom."
His entire body went rigid, muscles locking tight beneath my hands. But I didn't care. I didn't even look at him at first. Instead, I stayed facing Olivia, eyes sharp, lashes lifted, stare unblinking.
