Chapter 3 - Log No. 1.2

A week ago, I died. After 10 years of suffering from illness, believe me, it was a relief. For the first time in my life.. There was no pain. My age was 39.

However, in truth, I did not really die.

Just before I was going into my last surgery, I downloaded an app called 'Corruption Hero!' And spent 100 dollars to buy the option that showed as [Become Basic Transmigrator].

I had no one to call my family since I was an orphan and never married, so money was useless to me. Since it promised to give me another chance at life, however exploitive that may be, I just stupidly bought it. It turned out to be the real thing! I woke up in a stranger's body along with my phone in the pocket!

I regret not buying the premium version of the transmigration version. That one had the daily life charge-free feature in it. Now I have to force myself to avoid chances that would make any man insane to miss out on.

I may be fine physically now. But mentally I was fucked!

Anyway, let's continue..

A car was ready below the apartment building, ready to give me a ride, and four people were already inside it. Three guards were standing in the lobby outside the apartment as well. Leaving two people alone was a social taboo here. There were laws and systems established to make sure that never happened. Or happened as little as possible.

The boy I am currently in the body of is a 17-year-old youth. Black skin, dark hair, and a handsome face. The boy has dropped out of school since he could not afford the fees and does multiple part-time jobs to pay his bills. Even after all that, he could barely pay one-third of the rent.

No one was allowed to live alone in this world. Government rules were to have at least three people in a house. A married couple could live alone if they wished to, but they would have to rely heavily on controlling meds and outside help to get through their daily lives.

Most couples, if they were couples, preferred to just have a roommate and a private room for themselves. But recently, three-person relationships have become popular. This is the case for me, Roy, as well. Not the relationship thing, the roommate thing.

The apartment belongs to Mr. and Mrs. Hyes. A middle-aged couple with no children of their own. The lady spreading her cheeks was Mrs. Hyes. Mr. Hyes leaves early in the morning for his banking job.

Rent is cheap, which must be why the boy was living here. It was a good place to live, even if it came with its own difficulties, as witnessed earlier.
