The room was silent after the dispenser was turned off. I quickly noticed that Rose looked a little restless and she kept shooting glances at the dispenser with a desperate look in her eyes.
Compared to her, her mother looked calm and unbothered. And finally, it was time for them to leave.
I kept sitting, waiting for the other two to leave and I had a feeling that the other two had the same idea. None of us were willing to back down here.
The tension lingered in the air like something unspoken.
The doctor was the one who had to interfere and tell us to leave.
"Umm, the visiting hours are over. If you all would now leave…"
He told us with a nervous look on his face and Natasha was the first one to get up.
"Of course. Rose, we should get going now. We will come around again, doctor."
She assured and Rose opened her mouth to protest, before realizing that she had nothing to say and followed her mother.
Her frustration was obvious, even as she turned away.
