Chapter 32 - Chapter 32: Purified Water Recycling Project

Super Skyscraper H10, a gathering place for Homeless men, Bankrupt Individuals, and Black Trash Bags, but also the Cozy Little Home for Berry and V.

After handling the business at Lizzy Bar, the two returned to the Apartment. After all, they couldn't yet sleep on the streets or in graveyards like the Dragonborn in The Elder Scrolls.

Whether the job was handled properly or not, at least they knew who they were working for and how to infiltrate Konpeki Plaza.

However, all of this depended on them being able to get the "flathead" robot from the Maelstrom tomorrow. Otherwise, everything would be for naught.

Whoosh~~

The Automatic Door opened. As soon as Berry entered, she plopped onto the Sofa, squinting her eyes and letting out a long sigh.

She had been Grinding All Day and then made a trip to Lizzy Bar tonight; she was exhausted.

Back home, V seemed much more relaxed. She took off her Jacket, hung it in the Closet, opened the Small Fridge, took out two bottles of Big Green Stick Beer, and sat down next to Berry.

"Ah, V, why are you sitting so close?" Berry felt a little awkward when V sat down. This Sofa was the Ancient Battlefield from the morning, and she couldn't forget how flustered she had been.

V had almost Reached Home Base.

Now, revisiting the old spot, Berry clutched the Clothes Zipper of her outfit, her eyes filled with wariness toward V.

This person, she wouldn't try to continue what happened this morning, right?

"Don't overthink it, Girl. I've been tired all day, I don't have the energy for that." V rolled her eyes at Berry, who had cautiously moved a few steps away, and without stopping her actions, opened the two beers using her teeth.

Too bad Bottle Caps couldn't be used as money like in Fallout. Watching the shiny cap arc through the air and land on the table, Berry felt a little regretful.

"Want one?" V handed her a bottle.

"Yes." Berry grabbed it immediately. She didn't like Hard Liquor, but she was quite fond of this Big Green Stick.

Especially after a busy day, she really needed some Industrial Lager to quench her thirst.

It was a trap.

V, tilting her head back to chug beer, secretly glanced at Berry out of the corner of her eye. Seeing Berry obediently drink, a sharp glint flashed in V's eyes.

It seemed Berry wasn't as lacking in energy as she claimed.

V was still setting a trap for Berry.

She knew Berry's alcohol tolerance; even beer could make her dizzy.

And some things were best done when the target was disoriented.

V looked amusedly at Berry, who was still casually sipping her drink, like a clueless prey walking into a trap.

She gulped down half a bottle in one go, then let out a satisfied sigh, leaning back comfortably into the sofa, her long legs crossed on the table.

"Hey, I say, did Lizzy's Braindance Technician give you something just now? Was it a chip?" V asked casually, looking at the Night City view outside the window.

"Oh, that?" Berry was still fiddling with the radio on the table, trying to tune into the famous Body Heat Radio in 2077.

Body Heat Radio is one of Night City's radio stations, named so because its frequency, 98.7, is the normal human body temperature in Fahrenheit.

This radio station is famous not only in Night City but also among 2077 players, because the renowned two-dimensional divine song — 'Bo Bo Chicken,' and 'I Really Want to Stay in Your House,' known as 'Sad Tune' and 'Widow's Tune,' all came from this station.

So Berry, intent on tuning into Body Heat Radio, didn't pay much attention to what V said. She casually pulled out the note Judy had given her.

"It's not a chip, it's just a contact... Hey, what are you doing!?"

Berry's eyes widened, and she whipped her head around, because as soon as she reached out, V snatched the note from her hand.

"Heh heh, Berry, you really don't get it." V was quick; she tore the note into pieces as soon as she got it.

"Hey, why did you tear up someone else's stuff!"

Berry panicked, reaching out to snatch the note back, but because she was shorter, V held her hand up, keeping it out of reach. Instead, Berry found herself pulled into V's embrace.

"She was trying to hook up with you, and you actually took it seriously, didn't you?" Looking at the flustered Berry, V rolled her eyes. How could Berry be so naive? If V didn't keep a close eye on her, she'd probably be tricked into bed five times a night.

V was much stronger than Berry. After a struggle, Berry didn't get the note back; instead, she was pinned underneath V, in a very ambiguous position.

Berry had drunk some alcohol, and after the playful struggle, her face was flushed. Coupled with the soft body rubbing against her beneath, V's desire flared up.

"Behave!" V pressed down on Berry's arm, which was trying to push her away, then pinched Berry's chin and kissed her.

Dozens of seconds later, Berry, finding a gap, pushed V away like someone drowning, then scrambled up and fled in a panic.

"You, you, you... you..."

With disheveled hair on her face, Berry's face alternated between pale and green, pointing at V, unable to speak.

This person, this person even stuck out her tongue.

Thinking this, Berry felt her entire face burn with shame.

V, on the other hand, stood up from the sofa, calmly tidying her clothes that had become disheveled during the struggle. She looked at Berry with a challenging gaze while wiping Berry's lipstick from the corner of her mouth.

"What, wasn't it comfortable? Why not continue?"

V teased Berry, her eyes glinting like she was looking at prey, making Berry shiver.

She didn't stop moving, slowly advancing towards Berry step by step.

Damn, this guy isn't trying to go all the way tonight, is she?

Berry was terrified. As V took a step forward, she took a step back.

The room was small, with not much space for Berry to maneuver. Sure enough, she kicked the edge of the bed behind her and plopped down onto the bed.

Now there was nowhere left to retreat.

"Wait, wait, V! Sister V! Big Sister!"

Berry quickly waved her hands, afraid V would pounce on her.

There was no movement.

Opening her eyes, V was standing there with her arms crossed, head tilted back, looking at Berry with a scornful gaze, as if waiting to see what other tricks she had up her sleeve.

"Sister V!" Berry's small face crumpled, instantly adopting a sorrowful expression. "Actually, actually, I'm not into that."

"Really, I can't accept it." Berry shook her head, saying helplessly.

But beneath her feigned expression, Berry was incredibly anxious.

Facing V's 'evil claws,' in desperation, Berry thought of pretending to be a niece.

If she didn't want to be taken tonight, this was her only option.

She was even pretending to be a niece; V surely couldn't make a move on her now, right?

This was Berry's best method in her predicament.

"Oh, really?" But looking at Berry's appearance, V raised an eyebrow, arms crossed, her face unreadable.

"Then Berry, can you explain..."

Seeing V's mischievous smile, Berry knew there was trouble, but she still couldn't stop V from continuing.

"Explain why, when I used to sleep, you would stare at me like this?" V smiled, using her fingers to make a suggestive gesture.

Berry's small face turned deathly pale, her eyes wide, completely stunned.

This, this, V knew all along!?

Looking at Berry's expression, V's lips completely parted, and she laughed.

Whether in the Nomads family or in Night City, the two of them always slept in the same bed. This bold Berry would sometimes rustle around at night, making noises while looking at V.

At that time, V hadn't yet awakened, and as a good older sister, she thought the child was going through puberty, so she pretended to be asleep to save Berry's face.

But after her 'aluminum-copper' awakening, she belatedly realized that this little girl, Berry, was treating her as a side dish.

Thinking about this, V was both angry and amused. Looking at Berry's current reaction, she knew she hadn't guessed wrong.

Berry had always had feelings for her.

So she didn't understand Berry.

Since Berry liked her, and she liked Berry, why couldn't Berry just obediently give in? Instead, she was so resistant to intimate actions.

"What, still have something to say?"

V stood with her arms crossed, delivering the final blow. Berry, with her spiraling eyes, stammered, unable to speak.

After realizing that V had known all about her past actions, her few remaining morals and sanity instantly collapsed. She plunged into a state of immense shame, burying her head like an ostrich.

"I, I, I..."

Berry's face was as red as a tomato, her words a soft murmur like a mosquito. She didn't even react when V sat down next to her.
