They wandered through the nightclub, observing Their surroundings and again they saw the actions of the other students—drinks and… interactions between two students. It was basically the same stuff they Noticed earlier, but didn't focused on before, but this time they started paying attention to it.
They also noticed some pills. There were some students who were secretly handing or exchanging some stuff. It didn't take a genius to guess what they were exchanging. Ren and Kai made eye contact, and it was very clear. They were both disgusted at seeing that, but they weren't surprised.
It was a well-known fact that you could pretty much find drugs anywhere. It was the number one smuggled thing ever. You could find it in schools, companies, houses, hospitals—not the good kinds of drugs. Anywhere drugs were definitely not allowed, you could probably find them there. And sadly, Star Island wasn't an exception. But it was still surprising that there were some in here. Even though star Island wasn't an exception, it was still one of the hardest places to smuggle anything in especially something like drugs so It was probably brought by students with connections that came here, not the gang.
Anyways, they also noticed that there were two areas that seemed to attract a lot of people, so they decided to head there. While they were walking, trying to avoid people, someone grabbed Ren's arm.
When he looked, it was a girl.
"Do you mind walking with me?" she said.
Before he could respond, she just dragged him. He was flustered. He didn't expect this. When he glanced at Kai, he found him also being dragged, and he was just as flustered.
Ren just looked back at the girl. She had a cheeky smile.
"Don't you want to hang out with me?" she teased him, making him blush a lot.
Even though he was fine interacting with girls, he had never had a girlfriend and had never actually flirted with one before. Even though many girls liked him, none of them flirted with him the way she did.
I guess it's expected to find a girl like her in a place like this. My grandma always warned me about this type of girl… oh shit, I forgot about Grandma. What the hell is she going to think once she finds out I'm in a place like this?
He tried to distract himself by looking around, focusing on where they were going.
He looked at the direction where she was dragging him, and they were going in the same direction as the area they were heading toward anyway. So he just played along and let her drag him.
Eventually, they did arrive at the area, and once he got past the crowd and managed to get a clear view of it, his eyes widened to the max. He couldn't believe what he was seeing.
This area was a !dance! club area. There were girls dancing, and there were even some guys. Ren looked away in embarrassment. He couldn't believe it. How the heck did this happen?
When he looked at Kai, he was also looking away in embarrassment. He didn't expect that either.
Shit, why would they choose to make a place like this?
He knew it was easy to make a !dance! club. All you needed was the important part—people that were willing to !dance!. But why would they want to make a place like this? Even though he knew why strip clubs were popular, he also knew that places like this were disgusting.
He should seriously leave this area right now.
The girl that was holding his arm noticed him looking away. She smiled, got on her tiptoes, and whispered in his ear.
"What's wrong? Are you nervous? I'm pretty sure you look like the type of boy that is used to seeing these types of things. After all, you look like someone that is very popular."
The whisper made him shiver, and unconsciously he looked at some of the girls. His eyes widened, he caught his breath, and his heartbeat almost skipped—not because the girl he was staring at was exceptionally beautiful or anything and it wasn't because of her body or the way she was dressed.
It was because he looked into her eyes.
She looked disgusted, afraid, even on the verge of tears. But still, she put up a nervous smile and continued dancing.
Then he looked at the rest.
Some girls and guys didn't have those looks. They seemed to enjoy what they were doing. But the rest—at least the ones that he could see—had the same look in their eyes.
This is very wrong.
He looked at Kai, who seemed to be distracting himself by talking to the girl next to him. He didn't seem to have noticed anything.
Ren pulled himself away from the girl and walked off, dragging Kai with him.
"What, dude—okay, we can move on. Please don't keep dragging me—okay, okay," Kai said, half-hearing him Ren let him go.
Ren was deep in his thoughts.
That was probably not what I was thinking, right?
They were probably just some Gunshot members who worked here. They probably took shifts in different positions, and the ones that looked like that were just the unlucky ones that didn't enjoy this, right?
That was the explanation Ren came up with in his head.
Even he didn't believe it.
But he tried to ignore whatever he was feeling. He couldn't really do anything about it right now, so he might as well move on. He didn't even know how to describe what he was feeling or what he wanted to do about it.
So he walked toward the second area—the one that seemed to attract most people's attention.
Judging by the lights, it didn't seem as colorful as the previous one. It wasn't the same as before.
And that was good enough for them to go to.
Once they got there, they found a circular pit. It wasn't that deep—it was about seven feet deep—but it was wide. It functioned as an arena where people fought while others watched.
How did he know this, even though there wasn't anything else to suggest it?
Well, it was because there were a bunch of people fighting down there right now—and they had powers.
Ren, looking for a distraction, focused on the fight. Even though it wasn't that impressive, he could see a bunch of people using their powers. None of them were that impressive, though he couldn't really judge, considering he technically had an Non-impressive power himself, and the same went for Kai.
Still, even though the fighting looked amateurish, he was interested.
There was wind blowing through the air. Someone jumped high into the sky. It was impressive.
This was the first time he had ever seen people fight with superpowers in person. Sure, he had seen a lot on television and his phone—way more impressive ones, heroes and villains—but this was the first time he had ever seen it with his own eyes.
And honestly, it was much more incredible than he ever imagined.
(I had to censor things with !dance!
