KNOX POV
"Dante is dead?" Celina was the first to break the silence.
"Yes," the man in front of her snarled. "We made sure to put that bastard six feet under where he belongs. And in his next life…"
A sharp burst of laughter spilled out of Celina. She tilted her head back and laughed so hard that tears began rolling down her cheeks.
"Dante and death in the same sentence?" she said again, as if the idea was too ridiculous to believe.
The truth was, it was hard to believe. Because Dante wasn't dead. I could still feel the connection between us. It hadn't been severed.
He was still my Alpha. I was sure Celina could feel it too and even Tessa. That was the only reason she wasn't panicking yet.
"What do you know, bitch?" the guard demanded, clearly offended by her laughter.
Celina's grin widened. "Dante is death himself. If you think he's dead, then you're as stupid as you—"
The rest of the words died in her mouth as a sharp crack echoed through the cell.
