I was being followed.
I felt it.
The moment I drove out of the pack house, I sensed those probing, heavy eyes, prickling the skin at the back of my neck.
It was not Dante. If it were him, he would have confronted me directly. He was not the type to trail someone in the dark, and he certainly would not waste time stalking me this far.
I doubted it was anyone from the pack either. I had not acted suspicious. There was no reason to track me.
Even though Dante had declared at the meeting that Oleander was wanted and that anyone with information about her whereabouts would be rewarded generously.
No one knew I was involved. And surely wouldn't think of following me.
The only person who seemed suspicious was Tessa, and she was busy in Dante's room. They were fucking. I grimaced, the memory of skin slapping against skin still echoing in my head as I passed her door earlier.
I shoved the thought away and slowed down when I noticed a black car in my rearview mirror.
