I stood by the door, watching Dante step inside. I wondered if he was about to talk about Oleander again. It had become a never-ending subject.
From the look on his face, I was certain her name would be the first thing out of his mouth.
"Alpha Caleb's killer has been found," he said instead.
"Oh?" I murmured, pushing away from the door, one hand still tucked into my pocket. That was not what I expected. "Who? From which pack?"
I could already think of at least ten Alphas who would have wanted that bastard dead. Dante included, even if he had not gotten the chance to do it himself.
Dante shook his head. "Not a pack," he said quietly.
"What?" I asked, unsure I had heard him correctly.
He let out a breath and turned toward the window, resting his hand on the frame as he stared outside.
"It's confusing," he began. "But from the little information I got from the chief, it's a hunter."
"A hunter?" I repeated, still confused.
