My eyes widened as I stared at the blood dribbling from the cut. Of all the things I expected her to do, attacking me wasn't one of them.
I had thought she was dying, that she wouldn't have enough strength left to do anything. I had underestimated her. Misjudged her completely.
A low, feral growl escaped Oleander's parted lips. She shot to her feet and lunged at me, ready to strike again. But this time, I was ready.
I intercepted the blow, clutching her wrist and yanking both her hands behind her back. I pried the razor from her grip and tossed it aside.
"What the fuck are you doing?" I hissed into her ear.
Oleander heaved, her shoulders rising and falling with each breath. She twisted her head to look at me, her eyes cold and burning with a hatred I knew all too well.
I didn't care.
"I told you to leave me alone," she snarled.
