The crowd fell silent.
"W-what?" one of the parents stuttered, surprise etched across his features.
"How can that be? I've never heard of this Warren family."
"Maybe she's an independent woman who managed to make money on her own?"
"She must be making a lot of money if she could pay both children's fees until they graduate."
The more they spoke, the lower their voices dropped as they suddenly realized they had judged her too quickly.
As their voices dwindled, one woman stood and harrumphed self-righteously.
"There aren't many things that can earn someone that much money at such a young age."
"Have you looked into her finances to make sure she isn't doing something that could drag the school's reputation through the mud?"
"Tell me you have because I do not want my son learning under the same roof as someone whose mother does something immoral."
