Chapter 98- Haki Introduction

Once everyone had calmed down, I decided it was the right moment to share some important information about the Grand Line.

After taking the strength and stamina potions and engaging in dual cultivation with me, their overall physical abilities had already improved noticeably.

Their bodies were stronger, their endurance higher, and their instincts sharper than in the original manga timeline. Because of that, I felt the timing was right. Even if I couldn't guarantee that they would awaken Armament Haki, I was fairly confident that at least some of them could awaken Observation Haki with proper guidance.

"The danger will only increase the further we go," I said seriously. "Once we enter the Grand Line, everything becomes far more lethal. Pirates, marines, weather, even the sea itself will try to kill us."

I paused briefly before adding, "And to be clear, everyone here is weak. Including me."

I noticed Lily frown slightly. She was clearly unconvinced, so I included myself deliberately. It wasn't a lie either. Compared to Admirals, Yonko, or someone like Imu, I truly was weak.

"That's why from now on, I want everyone to train seriously," I continued. "We have two massive training rooms on this ship, yet only a few of us actually use them. The rest of you have been taking things far too casually."

"From today onward, I will personally supervise your training. I'll provide weapons, refine your techniques, and teach you skills that will be essential for our survival in the future."

I smiled as I looked at the girls. Some of them looked shocked by my sudden intensity. Lily and Kuina, however, nodded immediately. Their expressions were serious and focused.

"Alex," Kuina asked after a moment, her brows furrowed, "what kind of training are we going to do?"

I answered without hesitation. "Lily will focus on mastering her Devil Fruit. Kuina, you'll refine your swordsmanship until every strike is lethal and precise. Kaya will focus on medicine, poisons, and internal body techniques. Nami will train in controlling the weather using a device called the Clima-Tact."

I glanced around the group before adding, "And all of you will focus on strengthening your bodies and awakening at least one type of Haki."

"I understand everything else," Kuina said slowly, "but what exactly is Haki?" Her eyes were filled with curiosity. I had mentioned it too many times for her to ignore.

"Haki is a spiritual energy," I explained. "It represents a person's willpower, ambition, and fighting spirit. It allows you to perform superhuman feats, such as sensing enemies, creating invisible armor, or overwhelming opponents with sheer presence."

"Almost every strong pirate crew in Paradise and the New World uses Haki," I continued. "If you want to stand at the top, you need it."

Originally, I hadn't planned on mentioning Paradise or the New World yet. But I thought it was necessary to let them become informed.

"Umm… Alex," Nami said hesitantly.

Her voice made me turn toward her, and she met my gaze with a puzzled expression. "What exactly are this 'Paradise' and 'New World' you keep talking about?"

The others immediately nodded along, making it clear they were just as confused.

"The Grand Line is divided into two parts," I explained calmly. "The first half, which we'll be entering in a few days, is called Paradise. The second half is known as the New World."

I leaned back slightly, clearly enjoying the chance to explain. "A lot of people make the mistake of thinking the Grand Line is a single, continuous sea. In reality, it's split into two halves by the Red Line."

"Paradise?" Nami repeated, her voice tinged with unease.

I couldn't help but smirk at her reaction. "I think we've all heard stories about the Grand Line, and none of them make it sound like anything close to paradise."

I let the silence stretch just long enough to make everyone uncomfortable, my grin turning faintly devious.

"The first half is only called Paradise," I continued, "because compared to the New World… it actually is one."

Their eyes widened instantly.

"But don't worry," I added, my tone softening. "By the time we get there, I'll make sure all of you are much stronger."

That reassurance visibly eased the tension on their faces.

"Now," I said, clapping my hands once, "back to Haki."

Everyone straightened immediately.

"Haki is a power latent within all living beings," I explained. "Most people never notice it, let alone awaken it. It represents a person's will, ambition, and fighting spirit, and it comes in three main forms."

I raised a finger. "Observation Haki, which allows sensing."

A second finger. "Armament Haki, which enhances attack and defense."

"And the third," I said slowly, "Conqueror's Haki is domination."

"Anyone who can use Haki is already a formidable individual," I continued. "If someone like that reached the East Blue, they could easily dominate it."

"In truth, it isn't very different from normal senses," I added. "Most people simply fail to notice it, or never push themselves far enough to awaken it."

"So… everyone can learn this Haki?" Lily asked, her eyes shining with pure awe.

I nodded. "Yes."

"That's so cool," Lily said softly, staring at me with obvious admiration.

The others nodded in agreement.

"There are two types of Haki that anyone can learn with the right training," I said, my tone turning serious again. "The first is Observation Haki."

I paused, scanning the group to make sure I had everyone's full attention.

"Observation Haki allows you to sense the presence, strength, and emotions of others. With enough mastery, you can predict attacks before they happen."

I smirked slightly. "I've even heard rumors of people who refined it so far that they could glimpse a few seconds into the future."

Everyone's eyes widened.

"Seeing the future?" Nami asked, disbelief clear in her voice.

I nodded. "Just a few seconds—but in battle, that's more than enough."

I then raised another finger. "The second type is Armament Haki. It forms an invisible armor around your body or weapons, increasing both offense and defense. It also allows you to hit Logia Devil Fruit users, even though their bodies are made of elements."

"If two Armament Haki users clash," I continued, "it comes down to whose will is stronger and who has more mastery of haki. The one with weaker haki will always take more damage."

"You can also coat weapons with it," I added, turning my gaze toward Kuina.

Her eyes lit up instantly, and a faint, excited smile appeared on her lips. Getting stronger had always been her goal, and this was exactly the kind of path she wanted.

"There are a few crucial things you need to understand about Armament Haki," I said, drawing everyone's attention back to me.

"First, Armament Haki cultivated to its peak can place someone at the very top of the world."

I smiled faintly. "The best example is the Hero of the Marines, Vice-Admiral Monkey D. Garp."

"And second," I continued, my voice firm, "this Armament Haki can completely bypass the abilities of Devil Fruit users."

The weight of my words settled heavily over the group.

This wasn't just power. It was the difference between surviving the Grand Line… and being crushed by it.

I didn't go too deeply into the complexities of Haki. For now, I only gave them a surface-level understanding and deliberately avoided mentioning any of the more advanced techniques.

"For example," I said casually, "Lily ate a rubber Devil Fruit. Under normal circumstances, punches don't affect her at all. They simply bounce off and cause no damage. But if someone coats their fist with Haki before striking, they can hit her just like she's a normal person."

When Lily heard that, her eyes widened. She closed them tightly and tilted her head, as if recalling something unpleasant.

"That damn old man…" she muttered. "He always said he could beat me because of his 'love fist."

She grabbed her head, grimacing as if the memory still hurt. "So he was actually using Armament Haki the whole time."

I chuckled quietly but didn't comment.

"And finally," I continued, "there's the last type of Haki: Conqueror's Haki."

My voice grew more serious.

"It's an extremely rare power that allows the user to overwhelm the wills of weaker individuals, knocking them unconscious without even touching them. At higher levels, it can be used to dominate and crush powerful opponents through sheer presence alone."

I paused before adding, "And at the very peak, there's an advanced form known as Conqueror's Infusion. It allows the user to coat their attacks with Conqueror's Haki itself. With that, you can harm beings that are otherwise considered untouchable… even those who seem almost immortal."

The room fell silent for a moment.

"Anyway," I said, clapping my hands once, "we'll forget about Haki training for the next few days. For now, we'll focus on theory. Understanding comes before practice."

I handed out written notes to everyone.

Kuina received detailed sword-training manuals.

Nami was given Clima-Tact schematics along with advanced weather theory.

Kaya received books on medicine, poisons, and internal body training.

I already had a clear vision for each of them.

I intended to shape Kuina into a close-combat swordswoman, lethal at short range.

Nami would become something like a magician, controlling the battlefield through weather itself.

Kaya, on the other hand, would be trained as both a healer and a frontline fighter—someone similar to Tsunade from Naruto. After all, they shared more than just blonde hair and generous tits.

Finally, there was Lily.

With her, I planned a different approach. I would guide her the way Rayleigh trained her in the time skip—less rigid structure, more instinct and real combat experience.

Of course, I still gave her basic theoretical knowledge, but Lily was the protagonist of this world. Fate itself would push her forward. My training would simply accelerate that process.

The crew began studying the manuals seriously—everyone except Lily.

Instead of reading, I explained things to her directly. Unfortunately, she was already half-asleep before I even finished.

Later that night, Kaya prepared dinner.

The meal was simple but filling: a large stew with plenty of vegetables, served alongside extra rice. We also shared a few drinks, easing the lingering tension from the day.

"Let's head to bed," I said after finishing my meal. "We start training early tomorrow."

The moment I said that, Nami, Kaya, and Lily all visibly deflated. They wanted to have fun, not training.

"Training already…" Nami groaned.

Only Kuina looked even slightly excited.

As the others began to disperse, Kaya leaned closer to me and whispered softly, "Captain… can I stay with you tonight?"

I glanced at her and nodded. "Sure."

The truth was, Nami, Lily, and even Kuina were already exhausted from the earlier exercises. I had pushed them hard during their so-called training.

But Kaya was the exception. She was the weakest physically, and she had stopped early to prepare dinner, making her the least tired among them.

As the night grew quiet and the ship gently rocked with the waves, everyone went to sleep in their own room—except Kaya and me, who went to the same room.
