Chapter 3 - The beginning

‎In the beginning, there was nothing.

‎No light, no sound only the eternal Void, and within it, the gentle breath of the Primordial God.

‎He slept for aeons uncounted, his dreams shaping the darkness itself. But at last, wearied by silence and solitude, he opened his eyes and spoke into the void:

‎"Let there be company."

‎From his own essence, he divided six fragments pure and radiant and breathed life into them. Thus were born the Ancient Gods, first children of creation.

‎Their names were spoken like thunder across the emptiness:

‎Ashkoryth, God of Time

‎Velthrynn, God of Space

‎Zorathar, God of Destruction

‎Kaelvorn, God of the Void

‎Syltherae, Goddess of Nature

‎Quorielith, Goddess of Creation

‎Though equal in birth, they were not equal in power.

‎Each governed the domains they were given, shaping stars, winds, and the foundations of worlds.

‎Yet, even as their angels sang and their realms bloomed, the Primordial One felt something missing the warmth of feeling.

‎So once more, he took a part of himself —a fourth of his remaining essence and created another six beings. These were lesser in strength, but unlike the first, they bore emotion. He called them the Old Gods.

‎Seraphyra, Goddess of Light

‎Morvath, God of Fire

‎Elyndra, God of Wind

‎Vaelgorath, God of Water

‎Khaedros, God of Earth

‎Nyxara, Goddess of Darkness

‎He named the first six the Ancient Gods and the latter six the Old Gods, and said unto them:

‎"Fill the universe with your voices, that I may rest once more."

‎Then the Primordial God fell again into deep slumber.

‎The Birth of Races

‎The Old Gods, together, sought to create life. Alone, their power was incomplete so united, they shaped a single race born of their shared divinity: the Alstras. Perfect beings of harmony and might, reflections of divine balance.

‎The Ancient Gods also shaped their creations:

‎Zorathar forged the Demons, fierce as flame and shadow.

‎Quorielith moulded Humans, curious and enduring.

‎Ashkoryth spun the Beastkin, children of instinct and spirit.

‎Velthrynn carved the Dwarves, steadfast and unyielding.

‎Syltherae sang the Elves into being, her song echoing in their forests.

‎Kaelvorn, the God of the Void, created nothing for in his heart lingered only indifference and sloth.

‎Each race was given its own world and for millennia, harmony reigned.

‎The War of the Gods

‎But peace is fragile, even among the divine.

‎In time, Kaelvorn turned his gaze upon the Alstras, born not of his hand but of those he despised. Consumed by envy and pride, he descended upon them in wrath, seeking to erase their perfection.

‎The Old Gods rose in defiance. In their fury, they struck at Quorielith, the Goddess of Creation, blaming her for Kaelvorn's rebellion. She fell, her divine blood seeding worlds with sorrow.

‎Kaelvorn's rage knew no bounds. Summoning his siblings, the Ancient Gods declared war upon the Old. For a hundred years the heavens burned until the winds stilled, and two of the Old Gods, Elyndra and Vaelgorath, perished.

‎The clash of their deaths rippled across the cosmos and woke the Primordial God.

‎Judgment

‎Summoning his children, the Primordial God demanded truth and what he heard was treachery.

‎For hidden beneath the ruin was a forbidden secret:

‎Kaelvorn, the God of Void, and Nyxara, Goddess of Darkness, had borne a child. The boy was a being of impossible power half shadow, half light. The other Old Gods, fearing his rise, murdered him in secret, hiding their sin beneath lies. They told Nyxara that Kaelvorn had slain their son.

‎Blinded by grief, she cursed his name. Kaelvorn, knowing the truth, descended into madness. His vengeance fell upon the Alstras the beloved creations of the Old Gods slaughtering them as retribution.

‎The cosmos trembled beneath his wrath.

‎The Sealing

‎The Primordial God, heartbroken by their betrayal, passed judgment.

‎He cast the Old Gods and their creations the Alstras into an eternal cube, sealed upon the planet Vaeloria.

‎Kaelvorn he chained within the Deepest Void, where no light may ever reach.

‎And the remaining Ancient Gods he banished to the Heavens, forbidden ever again to touch the mortal realms.

‎The war had shattered worlds and poisoned the stars.

‎So the Primordial God gathered what races remained and brought them all to Vaeloria a single world where survival would be their penance, and their chance at redemption.

‎The Phoenix Bloodline

‎Among the Beastkin, one clan stood apart the Phoenix Clan.

‎Legends whispered they were not born of Ashkoryth, like the others, but of forbidden blood.

‎It was said that before his death, the son of Nyxara took a mate from the Zephyra Clan eagles who ruled the skies. Their union birthed a new lineage: the Phoenix Bloodline, beings of fire and rebirth.

‎Their power grew, and with it, envy. The four major clans turned against them, driven by hatred and fear, until the Phoenix were hunted to near extinction. Only their flames remain in rumour a dying spark that refuses to fade.
