Chapter 13 - Chapter 13: The tower master

"Raven!", Damian embraced his daughter, his tense shoulders dropping, the ice in his eyes melting. "Are you hurt?, Does anywhere hurt?", the urgency in his voice was apparent to anyone. Nairel stared the now awakened girl sitting on the bed, his eyes glowing with affection. He looked away just as her eyes darted to him. a different kind of hurt boiling in his chest. now he had to leave. he had to come back stronger. He wondered if she would still remember him, If she would still be here when he returns. 'I love you.' The words at the tip of his tongue. He couldn't say it, not now at least.

Raven had received the hugs and worry from everyone in the room, including the cold fae shutting the windows. She turned to the other cold man beside her bed. His features were clear now, no shadows shrouding his being. " Ale will you stay?" She asked, startling her family. "Yes child, wherever you go , i follow." Nairel narrowed his eyes at the newly added member of 'their family' earning a confused stare from Raven. He shifted his eyes to Damian who stood by his daughter not caring about anything else. He had no reason to refuse Ale from staying by his daughter, he was strong, even stronger than him. He could protect his daughter.

Damian tucked his daughter in bed after everyone had left the room. He kissed her forehead and patted her head. "Raven, you know I'll always be here. I'll always be your father. okay" "mmhm" she hummed to her fathers vow of protection. "Goodnight father." He smiled as he walked out the door, meeting the gaze of the shadow man leaning against the wall to his daughter's room. " Who exactly are you? What do you want with my daughter?' Damian asked his eyes narrowed as he spoke in a hushed tone. "We might as well talk then." Ale said walking forward to the ground floor study. How he knew it was there was still unknown.

***********

The study was dim with wall lamps as the only source of light. Damian and the rest of the family sat around the dark table with Ale seated at the very end. " So.... Who are you?" Ale glanced at Damian his eyes carrying a hint of helplessness. " My name is Alethuris Dracialis Vortelix, i was born when Brusselie was just another continent on the 'mother world' Sivennia. So yeah, i am Older than the current Brusselie... I'm sure you all don't know what Sivennia is. Well... Sivennia is the mother world. Just one of the 800 worlds of Iris; our Universe. Millions of years ago, Brusselie was a part of Sivennia, that is until the great war of Kings." He paused slightly allowing the bewildered vampires and faes to digest the information he had passed on. He released a breath and prepared to tell the 'children' in the study room a 'bed time story'.

"Sivennia had eight continents.... They were big enough to be classified as worlds of their own. Every continent, a different civilization. At the start they didn't allow for racial cooperation, but the Demon Prince secretly took the Phoenix princess as his wife. They were young and foolish, so they sparked the first civil war. The phoenix and dragon clans had always been the strongest, the Vampire and demon clans following right after. After a few threats to their life and the life of their unborn child, the Demon prince and Phoenix princess ended the war and the laws were reformed. The child they birthed took after them, he grew up and married the dragon princess, this time there was no war but the other continents sovereigns grew anxious. The Dragon, phoenix and demon continents had allied through marriage, the others were almost irrelevant now, so they started the cove war; this one was different from the civil war, the werewolf sovereign, the witch sovereign, the vampire sovereign, the fae sovereign and the merman sovereign allied together for this war. but they still lost. The demon phoenix prince and dragon princess were forced to prove their dominance. they became the central sovereigns and supreme leaders of sivennia. Then another idiot came along. He was a werewolf-witch hybrid, the sovereign of the werewolves. He thought he could conquer the world after gaining a 'chance encounter' so he started the war of Kings. At that time Brusselie was headed by the Vampire sovereign with the seven lesser kings that chose to build their kingdoms in brusselie. The vampire sovereign had incurred losses during the previous war and wanted to stay out but was dragged in any ways. When the war was at its peak, The Vampire sovereign came together with the kings and tore Brusselie away from the mother planet causing it to drift away for thousands of years until.....the Demon phoenix sovereign of Sivennia opened the channel to send his daughter here, thereby bringing Brusselie closer to the mother planet. I was that Vampire Sovereign. Alleon, the Demon phoenix sovereign contracted me to his daughter for her protection. I have no idea what exactly is going on in Sivennia but i know he wouldn't send the Princess here for no reason. She is the only one capable of awakening the old kings' spirits which have been fused with the spirit of Brusselie. It is high time we returned home."

Silence. An existence that filtered through the study room. Its oppressive aura wrapping around their heads. 'The children' sat quietly staring at 'their grandpa', wondering if someone had bumped somebody's head.

" So... My Daughter is the princess of the mother world. Her father is a Demonic Phoenix and her mother a Dragon. My little girl woke up the spirit of Brusselie and now we are drifting closer to Sivennia....Okay!" To everyone's surprise, Damian accepted the information easily, no doubts in his voice. Closing his red eyes for a second he asked " What about the war? Why did those witches suddenly wage war?" His deep red eyes stared at the Dark haired Shadow vampire sitting across from him as if to bore holes through his being. He was reassured of the man's presence around his daughter, even he was shocked at his acceptance.

"The dark witches are not beings i keep under my scope. i don't care about their petty selves at all, so i have no idea why they suddenly went bunkers." Ale's eyes were bright with pride. he truly didn't care for the dark witches or their trivialities. He combed his hands through his hair, the strands lapping at the sides of his face. His lips were curved in a careless smirk, His fangs poking through his parted lips. "Children, don't you worry. your great grand daddy is here". A couple eye rolls from a couple old 'children', had eased the apprehension in the room. Ale smiled a little smile. his eyes warming as he looked at his centuries old grand children.

'Fwoosh', a black dagger covered in green runes slammed into Kronan's back. The fur on his back was drenched in blood...his, most probably. His golden eyes glowed in feral light, a low pained growl escaped from his throat. He was wrecked. The war had been going on for far too long. His death had come to show its presence. His men going ahead to open a path through hell for him.

***********

At the Southern border's of Brusselie; Brundielle, a tower loomed. Dark runes marking its surface. its Visage a thing of dread. The dark tower lay at the borders, watching silently. Protecting the borders of the dark lands past it.

Within the dimly lit halls of this tower, a being stood tall, the dark crown on its head proof of its identity. A wine glass twirled in his hands as he set his eyes on the land beyound the southern borders. His white hair flowed down to his back. His deep black eyes an unsettling contrast. Behind this tall man, a woman knelt. her breath silent. She dared not breath to loud in his presence. "Speak, child" The man spoke. his voice deep and hoarse like he had not spoken for years.

"There is no proof of my claims master. The child is without any fault....but i will do everything to help our cause." The agitation in her voice rang loud in the man's ears. " We do this all for Brusselie....we cannot afford to fail" the Man said, his declaration ringing loud in Valeria's ears.

"Yes master".
