Marcus was back with us now, though he was far from the strong wolf we known before. He was weak and pale, his body showing the terrible toll that possession had taken. But he was alive, and most importantly, he had his own eyes again. They were brown and real, not the glowing red of Tharok's control.
He slept for long days after we brought him back. His body needed time to heal slowly from everything it had been through. The fight that had raged inside him, between his own soul and the Primordial that had taken control, had hurt him deeply. Tharok had used his body hard, pushing it beyond normal limits without any care for the damage being done.
We kept Marcus close during his recovery, always guarded and surrounded by people who loved him. We wanted him to know he was safe now, that he was home and protected.
