"What is this?" Lyra demanded, and I could hear real surprise in her voice. "They're linking through pack bonds? Creating a unified power structure? That shouldn't be possible!"
"It shouldn't be possible," I agreed, feeling my voice resonate with something bigger than myself. It was like forty Alphas were speaking through me at once, their voices blending into one powerful harmony. "But we're not fighting as individuals anymore. We're fighting as a Coalition. We're wolves united by choice, not by dominance. You can't understand that because you've never experienced true cooperation. You've never known what it means to work together instead of ruling through fear."
I struck back at them with everything the Coalition had, and for the first time since this battle began, the Primordials actually staggered. It wasn't much. Just a small stumble, really. But it was enough to show us something important. They could be hurt. They weren't invincible after all.
