He pulled out his phone and showed me the Pack Network website. The headline made my blood run cold:
"SHOCKING REVELATION: Luna Nessa's True Parentage Exposed. Silver Moon Bloodline Claim Questioned"
The article contained photos of what appeared to be an old letter, yellowed with age, written in flowing script. And it claimed to be from my mother, written the night before she left me at Silverwood's borders.
I read with trembling hands:
"To whoever finds this child, I beg you to protect her. Her father and I loved each other despite it being forbidden. He was Silver Moon, I was not. When our union was discovered, we were cast out. Victor Strand hunts us now, determined to end our bloodline.
Our daughter carries Silver Moon blood, but also human blood from my lineage. She is considered an abomination by pure-blood standards. But she is innocent. She deserves life.
