•SOPHIA'S POV•
Our performance is finally over. I am trying to catch my breath. Everybody was impressed by us. Besides this, we got hootings and standing ovations too which mattered to me a lot. I went backstage again with Michelle to drink some water and gain some energy. But I want to go to the restroom to relieve myself. I was heading towards the restroom but suddenly like literally out of nowhere, I collided with a well-dressed, middle-aged woman who looked affluent and delivered a bossy aura.
•SELVORA'S POV•
"Aoh..she is the one who trapped my son isn't it?" I thought. "Oh my God sweetheart! Did I hurt you anywhere? Oh my gosh, my bad I wasn't paying enough attention while walking.." I said in a so called concerning voice. "Ahh! No madam it's alright. It's probably my mistake because I was in a hurry." I heard her saying. "Ew! No wonder because of this unrealistic and double faced personality, her artificial voice, the way she overly expresses herself through expressions makes weak hearted boys like my Ethan immediately fall in love." I thought to myself. "Aw sweetheart it's alright and by the way you have such an angelic, melodious voice. I could hear it continuously for days!" I said. "Ew! I would rather burst my ear drums than listen to her discordant voice." I thought. She left apologising.
•ETHAN'S VOICE•
"Oh Adrian!" I called Adrian basically my voice echoed through the whole corridor. He came towards me and asked what the matter was. "Bro I want to confess to Sophia about my f-feelings. I really love her. But I don't know how to say and what to actually do for her that would build her trust in me. I am completely clueless about all these things. B-but I want to confess."
•ADRIAN'S POV•
"Pfwahhhhhhahhaha! WHAT! DID I HEAR IT RIGHT? YOU? YOU ARE IN LOVE WITH SOMEBODY AND THAT SOMEBODY IS SOPHIA!? Bro tell me you are joking. I thought we were the best buddies as well as the best couple." I said in sarcasm but it made Ethan silent. The silence before the volcano eruption happens. "O-oh sorry bro I was kidding. Yeah what you were saying? Oh yes you want to confess to Sophia. Okay..I'll somehow make the arrangements and help you. But. Are you self-reliant and firm about your decision? Are you assured that you won't regret it in future because if she says rejects it's done for you." I asked him seriously while grabbing both of his shoulders. But before he could say anything, I said with a cheerful smile,"However, I am nobody to question this. But I will definitely help you."
•AUTHOR'S POV•
Ethan went completely silent like the silent posters of the singing competition hanging on the wall of his college corridor after hearing from Adrian. "Am I sure? Is she the one? But I really love her and will do anything for her." Ethan thought to himself. "No! It's not the right time. She just met me less than 15 days ago and it would make me look like a weirdo in front of her. I will wait and make her fall in love with me. Gradually." I stopped Adrian on his tracks after he heard what I said. "Yes. Honestly this feels much better." Said Adrian.
•NEXT DAY•
•AUTHOR'S POV•
Soon the next morning arrived which was vibrant and cheerful-- The noise. The slamming lockers. The joyful laughs. The jokes..But for Ethan? It seemed just like a non-vibrant morning with nothing extraordinary or magnificent in it. The teacher soon arrived in the classroom with a gentle smile announcing an important assignment, "Everybody, kindly listen to the following important instructions. Firstly, there's an important class interval waiting for you. The topic will be, 'How has the judiciary's behaviour changed according to the change in time towards the criminals? Has it performed modernization or regression?' You all can also perform various kinds of skits of law procedures, how the punishments sentenced to the criminals are actually supervised and systematically performed. Your creativity will be tested through this project as well as your practical thinking skills. Think carefully of what to actually do.Secondly, it will be done in pairs or trios. Here are the arrangements for the assignment: 1) Michelle and Adrian 2) Jenny and Khloe 3) Jonathan and Scarlett.... 16) Sophia and Ethan. If you have certain complications while doing so you are free to tell me. Thank you!" The teacher left after announcing the instructions.
•ETHAN'S POV•
My heart completely stopped beating when I heard who was paired with me. Usually, the paired ones consists of an intelligent one and an average one in order to help the averages to reach the milestone. But, this time it was not paired on any kind of basis. I saw a glimpse of hope and contend because it is a golden chance of mine given by the God for Sophia and I to be closer.
•ADRIAN'S POV•
I witnessed Ethan laughing silently like a maniac and then I said,"Man! Ethan you are really a serendipitous soul. I literally got paired with an eccentric girl with whom I never had an interaction. Dude I envy you. You are definitely a chosen one." I sighed. "But let's see, since the topic seemed really fascinating and exciting. I'll definitely perform a play." I added.
•SOPHIA'S POV•
I was feeling neutral. At a certain point of time I felt blissful and later on I was wondering what it would be like with Ethan? "Wait, how are we going to do the assignment? Will we make it at home separately?" I asked Michelle. "Umm... Honestly speaking it's up to the students whether they want to complete it in the college itself but you would barely get time. Also, since the assignment's topic seemed that is to be practically performed I reckon that we can go to our assigned partners home or maybe vice-versa. But girl, don't worry. You literally got ETHAN. You should be happy. I advise that you should perform this project at his home." Michelle gave a cheerful smirk while saying this to me. My cheeks were fast enough to turn reddish-pink and my mind filled with unnatural thoughts. "Yaaa! What the heck you saying!!? It's literally an assignment about the judiciary and here you are doing your double minded talks!" I exclaimed in the same manner. "But Sophia. Do you know that his mother runs the metropolitan department of our country? His mother is really in a powerful position. You should be alert too. Cuz of she sees you bothering Ethan she may actually sent you to the jail. I also heard from somewhere that his mother performed corrupted things before becoming a Commissioner but I don't know how she ended up being one if she performed heinous acts.." Michelle said this while whispering. I, immediately got goosebumps the way she said it. I opened my mouth. My mouth literally dropped on the floor after hearing of Ethan's mother. "Girl. Don't scare me to death. How are we going to complete the assignment if I don't converse with him? And about the rumours of his mother it's probably some fabrications done to lower the dignity of his mother." I said this while giving hope to myself.
•AUTHOR'S POV•
The college is over. Everybody was packing their bags. However, Ethan went up to Sophia to ask about the assignment.
•SOPHIA AND ETHAN•
"Hey Sophia! How do you want to do the assignment? Shall I come today at your home or you?" I said confidently but deep inside I know how nervous I was just to say this one sentence.
To which Sophia replied giving a warm smile, "Oh hi Ethan. Umm..about the assignment I believe you should come at mine because I feel way more free and comfortable at mine. And by the way it may seem out of the talk but you performed so energetically and fiercely. I really l-liked it. " I said.
"Oh! T-thanks..Uh-uh..That's good, then I'll come around 5 p.m. Alright then see you." I had a short conversation with her because I didn't know what to say. I am really a stupid guy and felt like the aim of my performance was accomplished.
Sophia left the conversation after bidding goodbyes.
•ETHAN'S POV•
"What the..actuall hell? Did she just complimented me? Oh my mother freaking God! Man! I think I might be the happiest person alive right now!!" I thought while literally jumping in the corridor. Everybody looked at me and began laughing, I felt embarrassed. "Okay Ethan, don't be too excited. Think. Then speak. It's not like I confessed to her and she accepted. It's just a natural complement given by her." I calmed myself down.
