Chapter 234 - He Really Fled

The Grimy Master was clad in ragged clothes, his complexion dark as coal, appearing even scruffier than before.

He emerged halfway from a crevice, glanced around, and was startled when he spotted a figure not far off. After squinting and recognizing who it was, he let out a sigh of relief.

He then displayed an anxious expression and waved me over.

"Fellow Thompson, come quickly! Don't just stand there, it's dangerous!"

I walked over and asked in confusion, "What danger?"

"Ugh! It's hard to explain for the moment, just hurry inside, we'll talk about it in there." With that, The Grimy Master retreated back.

I followed him inside.

This statue was enormous, with a space inside its base about the size of half a room, dimly lit by an oil lamp.

By the light, a hole in the floor could be seen, with a ladder leading downward.

Voices could be faintly heard from below.

The Grimy Master descended the hole, and I followed.
