Ring, ring, ring!
The bell for the end of class rang.
Three periods had ended, and the students packed away their books, stood up, and prepared to change classrooms.
Many eyes glanced towards the back of the classroom, still showing some signs of shock on their faces.
The previous scene had left them absolutely astounded; even now, they could hardly believe it—this fellow had actually finished reading a book in less than a day.
What a terrifying memory!
Several girls showed excitement, gathered together, and whispered among themselves, looking at me.
"He's so amazing! His grades must have been excellent before!"
"Look, he's quite handsome too!"
Hearing these comments, I didn't mind, but a group of boys, especially Eamon Cox and others, felt a bit upset and looked at me with growing distaste.
"This guy likes to show off! Didn't he just sneak in through connections? What's there to boast about!"
Many boys sneered and felt discontent.
