Megan Wilson glared at the man beside her and then shifted her gaze to me.
After sizing me up, she frowned slightly and looked away.
He doesn't seem like a boyfriend at that age, maybe a relative. She thought to herself, not paying much attention.
Then, she turned her gaze to Melissa Lopez and smiled a bit fakely.
"Melissa, long time no see! How come you haven't been attending the class reunions these past few years!"
"I've had some things to take care of, couldn't make it!" Melissa smiled politely.
Megan nodded and said, "I heard you weren't exactly well-off! How come you can afford to shop here now?"
"Things here are quite pricey, most are at least a few thousand, the nicer ones can cost tens of thousands."
Her tone carried a hint of acidity and mockery.
"Look, this is my boyfriend, his name is James Hernandez, he's the boss of a company and earns nearly ten million a year!" As she spoke, she tightened her grip on his arm, striking a pose of sweet love.
