At the crossroads, we stood opposite, sizing each other up.
Suddenly, we laughed simultaneously.
Seeing Kimberly carrying a large basket of oranges, I quickly stepped forward and took it, "Let me help you with that!"
Kimberly Harris gently hummed in agreement.
We walked side by side towards the village.
"Charlie, when did you arrive?" Kimberly asked softly.
"Not long ago," I replied, "By the way, Kimberly, you'll be in your final year of high school next semester, right?"
Hearing this, Kimberly's expression darkened, a hint of bitterness appearing on her face.
"What's wrong?" I asked puzzled.
