Chapter 101 - 101: The Burden of Strength

Rolan knew it was not easy for Law to hear those words.

He walked over to Law and lightly patted his shoulder, "Since it has already happened, our goal now is to grow stronger and protect what we care about."

Law shook his head when he heard this, "Understood, Captain Rolan."

Rolan was aware of the depth of their friendship, having grown up together. It would not be easy for Law to overcome his pain immediately.

Rolan reached into his space and pulled out a set of medicinal pods and a booklet he had compiled about his understanding of Haki, handing both to Law.

"Captain Rolan, what is this?"

"These are medicinal pods. They can quickly restore stamina and heal injuries. Any damage or exhaustion from daily training can be recovered with them."

Law stared in disbelief. If Captain Rolan possessed such miraculous medicine, why was he still inviting him to be the ship's doctor?

Rolan noticed Law's doubt, "These medicinal pods are limited. Using them as a doctor would be wasteful."

Law hesitated without daring to take them, "Captain Rolan, these pods are precious. Why would you give them to me? They should be too valuable to waste."

Rolan leaned against the ship's railing, gazing toward the horizon.

"What I want to do requires all of us to work together. It will not succeed if even one of us is missing. If we rely on medicine alone, that is wasteful. How could these pods ever be more important than you?"

Hearing this, Law felt a bit shy, and then he asked politely, "Captain Rolan, is what you want to do very difficult?"

In his mind, Rolan was the strongest man he had ever met, far stronger than Doflamingo. He could hardly imagine someone that powerful still struggling with something.

Rolan nodded, "Yes, it is something even Gol D. Roger could not accomplish."

Law's eyes widened in shock. He had never heard of anything Roger had failed at. Roger had conquered the Grand Line and earned the title of the Pirate King.

How difficult could something be if even that person could not complete it?

Rolan continued, "This world is too warped, and it has been this way for over eight hundred years. It needs a new dawn."

"What?! Does Captain Rolan mean…"

Rolan turned to look at Law and nodded, "Yes. People in this world live too hard."

"Every day they go out they must beware of ruffians and tyrants in town; when they sail, they face pirate attacks; even when they return home, they might face violence. In this world, ordinary lives are treated like weeds, tossed about at the whims of those in power."

I guess being a Transmigrator makes my mentality different, I pity the powerless, Kind of remind me of myself.

".....In a world where the strong prey on the weak, the weak cannot even choose their own death. That is truly tragic."

Law felt deep empathy for what Rolan said. He had lived from the bottom himself.

Rolan went on, "This world is twisted, and I intend to change it."

Law tilted his head and looked at this man younger than himself, hearing such bold dreams.

He decided then that even if it cost all his strength, he would help Rolan do it.

"Then Captain Rolan, what is this?" Law asked, pointing to the Haki manual.

Rolan did not turn back. His gaze stayed fixed on where the sea met the sky.

"This is a Haki cultivation manual. Haki is…"

After Rolan's explanation, Law opened the pages and found it detailed. Thinking about the power and effects Rolan had just explained, he understood that if he mastered such an ability, Shakuyaku and Pekoms would not have gotten into trouble.

But the dead do not return, and he now had a new group of companions.

He must become strong to protect his crew; he did not want to suffer the pain of loss again.

Seeing Law regain determination pleased Rolan.

He said, "Every ship in our pirate fleet has a training room and a gravity chamber. You can use them freely, and if needed, I can adjust the gravity for you."

At this, Law walked toward the ship's cabin.

Rolan turned and saw Bepo watching him with eager eyes. He knew Bepo also wanted to grow stronger.

Rolan thought for a moment about how to help Bepo improve.

He slapped his forehead as he remembered the luminous pearl he had obtained from the fallen island. The pearl glowed like the moon.

He took the pearl from his space.

Immediately the deck lit up as if a moon had appeared, illuminating the sea around them.

Rolan squinted and saw a pair of crimson eyes fixed on the glowing pearl. He knew those eyes belonged to Bepo.

He quickly closed the pearl away. As the dazzling light faded, Bepo's fur returned to normal and his eyes cleared.

"Captain Rolan, what was that?" Bepo asked, bewildered.

He had felt an enormous power surge within him, but he couldn't control it at all. If it had continued, he might have gone berserk.

Rolan explained, "That is the hidden power within the Mink Tribe, but you cannot control it yet."

When Bepo heard it was a power of the Mink Tribe, he became extremely excited, "Captain Rolan, how can I master it?"

He wanted to wield it so badly; Bepo refused to be treated like a pet.

"This power belongs to you, but mastering it depends on your physical strength. Train hard, and once your body can support it, you will control it."

Bepo nodded his bear head eagerly, "Then I'll start training right now!"

Seeing a chance to become stronger, he wanted no delay.

Rolan wrapped the luminous pearl carefully and handed it to Bepo's paw, "Until you master it fully, do not take this out in front of others."

Although Bepo was a bear, he was intelligent. He understood why. If he used it carelessly, he might lose control and cause damage.

After greeting Rolan, Bepo ran into the training room.

Rolan watched Bepo's back until he disappeared, then sighed, "I'm a lone wolf again."

The sun had set, and the sky was dotted with stars.

Rolan sat on the deck, resting his head against the mast, "I wonder what Hancock and the others are doing."

As the Super Heart Net tracked the crew, he saw Hancock and the others had separated and returned to their rooms.

A faint curve touched his lips, then he vanished from the deck.

A knock sounded on one cabin door.

"Who is it?"

"Open up, it's me."

Hearing Rolan's voice outside, Robin gently opened the door.

"Rolan, what are you doing here?"

Rolan did not answer directly but wrapped an arm around her waist, "Was it your idea to keep me from going ashore today?"

Robin tried to push him away, "What are you doing? Lina's room is right next door."

"It's fine. I already shielded this room with an electromagnetic field. Others can't see or hear. Now answer me, was it your idea?"

Robin glared, "You're such a flirt. Who knows if you'd find another one if you went ashore?"

Rolan pulled her closer, and Robin fell against him, "Trying to treat me like your wife now, are you asking for discipline?"

"Ah…"
