Chapter 1 - Headache

Damn! Don't drink and read, kids.

Ember draped her arm over her eyes. The light filtered in through the curtains. She didn't want to get up. Didn't need to get up. At least, that's what she kept telling herself.

Too bad her bodily urges won. She rushed to the bathroom.

Finished and humming to herself, Ember went to wash her hands.

When did my faucet look so nice?

Scrutinising the tap, she couldn't help looking around the bathroom. The more she looked, the more shocked her expression became.

Did I break into someone's house? I fell asleep in my own house. Why the hell would I break into someone else's?

That's when she caught it. From the corner of her eye, she caught a glimpse of herself in the mirror.

That is definitely not me.

The face, the tits, the ass. Damn! Definitely not me.

But I like it!

Dark hair, upturned eyes, plump lips, she touched her face here and there. She even inspected her teeth. Perfect. That's the word she came up with.

Then she moved to her breasts. Cupping and kneading, even pinching the nipples. She lifted her shirt, gazing at them from every angle.

Is this my new hentai life? These things are so big, but gravity is not an issue.

Moving down to her flat stomach, she touched her almost hairless pussy. Everything was smooth except for the tiny triangle that pointed its way to her labia.

She turned to the side, squeezing and slapping her backside. It seemed to be set on a spring, because the way it bounced made Ember feel like she could stare at it forever.

Thinking this was all a dream, she couldn't help but fawn over herself.

Satisfied, she went back to the room, intending to go back to sleep. Maybe she can wake up from whatever dream this might be.

[Ding]

[Now that someone has finished checking themselves out, how about we talk?]

A screen the colour of red wine appeared, the letter bathed in a soft golden glow.

The fuck?

[Fuck indeed. You're going to be doing a lot of that in the near future.]

I'm going crazy.

[You aren't going crazy. Call me Pleasure, call me Your Majesty, call me Sexy...I don't mind. I'm your Lustful Survival System. You can guess from the name what I need you to do.]

Ember didn't believe any of this was actually happening. Lying in bed, she closed her eyes.

It will go away if I go to sleep.

[I'm not going anywhere, little duckling. And yes, I can definitely hear your thoughts.]

This time, Ember didn't get the chance to say anything. The door to her room opened.

Tall, chiselled jawline, high cheekbones, sword eyebrows, and abs. Ember took it all in. The shirtless man walked in and sat on the side of the bed. It took all her willpower to look into his eyes. And even then, those eyes threatened to draw her in.

She inhaled sharply before trying to compose herself.

Try being the operative word.

"Are you feeling alright?" His hand touched her forehead.

"I-I'm fine," her voice cracked. "I'm fine, just not feeling well."

"You sure about that? You don't look fine," he countered.

"Definitely, definitely fine."

Her eyes trailed downward, catching sight of the bulge in his shorts.

[Damn straight, he's fine!]

Shut up!

Ember had no clue who this man was, but he sure knew her. She decided she needed to play this off as if she was just tired.

"If you say so. Remember, you need to come with me to the auction tonight."

She nodded, not really hearing what he said. All she knew was that the low timber of his voice sent shivers down her spine, the good kind.

He didn't say anything else. Just smoothed her hair and left the room.

Ember sprawled on the bed as soon as he left. Her mind still full of his voice, smell and abs, she sighed softly.

[Looks like someone's been smitten]

Too bad I'm dreaming

[You aren't dreaming. No matter how many times you go to sleep, you're stuck here.]

Alright then. Let's pretend I'm not dreaming. What am I doing here?

[Building collapsed. You died, and now you're here.]

An ugly expression crossed Ember's face when she heard that. Honestly, she kind of believes it. The building was due for renovation, and she heard the landlord wasn't going to rent it anymore. But no one said anything about structural damage.

She decided against thinking about it too much. If she did, who knows what kind of hysterical thing she would do.

Instead, she focused on her new life. The one where she has a hot body and an even hotter whoever he is.

Alright then, system, let's see what you've got.

[Well, take a look at your status and see what's happening.]

[Host: Ember Montclaire]

[Title: Novice]

[Lust Essence (LE): 0]

[Seduction: 100]

[Stamina: 10 (Needs work)]

[Base Name: N/A]

[Base Level: N/A]

[Population: N/A]

[Looks like somebody had some work to do.]

What's that? Why do I need a base?

Ember saw it before the system mentioned it.

[Remember me saying I'm the Lust Survival System? Yeah, you little duckling are in danger. Well, this entire world is in danger. In about a month from now, this world will enter a metamorphosis. For humans, it's doomsday; for everything else, it's a new life.]

"What?!"

This time, Ember wasn't able to stay calm. She supposedly died once, and now here she is again, about to die.

[You won't die. That's why I'm here. I'll be your fairy godmother and help you save the world. Or whatever is left of it.]

"What do you mean, what's left of it?"

[You don't expect everyone to live, do you? And if they do, what do you have that's worth following? Maybe if it were your brother, people would follow.]

"Brother? What brother? You mean the guy who just came in?"

Ember felt mortified; she was lusting after her brother. Why did he have to look so good?

[It's fine, you're technically not related, lust away. I might even join you.]

"Not related? Then why did you say he's my brother?"

[Your mom married his dad. They both died on their honeymoon. Kind of sad, really. Anyway, he's been taking care of you ever since. ]

Why does that sound familiar?

"Hey, Your Majesty, did their parents die five years ago on a cruise? And is my brother's name Aiden Montclaire?"

[Keep calling me that, I like it. And yes, did you finally remember?]

Ember wanted to run into a pole right now. Regardless of whatever the system was asking, Ember was in total freakout mode. She rolled around on the bed, pulled at her hair, and screamed into the pillow.

The system watched, acting like this and thought she was a drama queen. If it had eyes, it would be rolling them.

When she finally calmed down, the system asked.

[Isn't remembering your past life a good thing? You don't need to act like a drama queen.]

"What past life?! This is a book, okay?! A book!"

The rolling started again, and Your Majesty could do nothing but watch. If the system were human. It would definitely feel a headache coming on.
