Chapter 52 - 52: Befriending Godzilla

"Although it's not as fast as directly equipping a template for attribute enhancement, it's still an additional ability. Better than nothing."

Luke was not greedy. Behemoth's physical strength alone was conservatively estimated to exceed one hundred thousand tons.

The only regret was the lack of energy-based attack methods similar to Atomic Breath.

Once I eventually record Godzilla, special elemental creatures, or even beings that embodied rules or pure energy, this ability would truly shine.

With no time to check the updated status of the Item Bar, Luke quickly emerged from Behemoth's remains.

He looked up, only to find himself staring eye to eye with a half-crouching Godzilla.

Godzilla's massive eyes were filled with curiosity as he continuously observed Luke.

That gaze seemed to say: You little thing are quite interesting, aren't you?

Seeing that Godzilla showed no hostility, Luke relaxed.

For some reason, he felt that Godzilla seemed to have a sense of closeness toward him.

Luke paused, then quickly realized the reason. The character template he was currently using was the Will of the Earth, Orochi.

And Godzilla was the maintainer of natural order, perhaps even a beast chosen by the Will of the Earth as its spokesperson.

To some extent, he was an executor of the Earth's will, maintaining balance.

So now I'm essentially working within the same Earth system as Godzilla, with a permanent position secured?

Or rather… am I Godzilla's superior?!

Luke subconsciously activated Orochi's innate Will of the Earth ability, a special form of telepathy that allowed him to perceive the emotions of all things on Earth and carry out simple communication.

"Yo, Big guy, hello?"

"Roar~ (Who are you?)"

"I am Luke, your colleague."

"Luke? What is a colleague? I don't understand."

"A colleague is like a companion, a partner, a friend. Just like you and Mothra. Someone you can trust and help each other."

"Mothra? Luke is Mothra? You're so pitiful, you're so small… Did you degenerate?"

"…Anyway, all you need to know is that we're on the same side."

Godzilla was, after all, just a Titan Beast. Luke was not yet familiar with the power of the Orochi Will, or perhaps the template itself was incomplete.

Communicating with Godzilla was difficult.

You couldn't expect a giant beast that had grown up alone to understand human language and patterns of communication.

However, Godzilla still grasped one thing.

"We… are… friends!"

"Yes, the best of friends!"

Godzilla's eyes revealed innocence and purity. He nodded vigorously. "Friend… smells good. I feel very close to him!"

Godzilla sensed a special, gentle aura emanating from Luke, like a mother he had never met.

No, it was more like that gentle voice that had guided him through the darkness.

That voice allowed him to perceive special anomalies across the world. Whenever a Titan Beast that threatened balance appeared, he would sense it immediately.

Although he still didn't understand why his friend was so small, he chose to trust him based on that sense of closeness.

"Luke, friend, good!"

Looking into Godzilla's clear, naive gaze, Luke felt a twinge of guilt.

It felt like he was deceiving a child who stood over a hundred meters tall and weighed ninety thousand tons.

The kind of chubby kid happily licking a lollipop.

However, when he realized that he could transform into Godzilla at any time,

Luke felt that tricking him was actually a brilliant idea.

Now he could even run over to the neighboring Ultraman set and use Atomic Breath to have a romantic beam clash with Ultraman.

"Friend, do you want to eat fish?"

Godzilla asked innocently—at least, that was how it sounded to Luke.

In the eyes of Optimus Prime and Mikaela, however, Godzilla was still that mighty, towering, terrifying, and invincible Titan Beast.

Every one of his movements carried overwhelming power, inspiring awe in the hearts of all who watched.

They saw that—This King of the Monsters seemed to be… communicating with Luke?

Then they saw Godzilla make a retching motion and spit out a… dripping wet great white shark.

What the hell? Was Godzilla having morning sickness?

Luke's eyelid twitched as he looked at the "second-stomach fish." He waved his hands repeatedly. "Thanks, but I don't eat ...fish."

"Friend, you don't eat fish?"

Godzilla was confused. He clearly remembered that Mothra liked to eat things like this.

Godzilla swallowed the great white shark back down.

Food couldn't be wasted. That was something he had learned since he was young.

"Friend, the enemy is dead. I'm going home now. Call me if you need anything."

Godzilla raised his small claw, as if waving, and let out a low roar.

Honestly, it was surprisingly expressive.

And it carried a strange sense of cuteness.

"Goodbye, Big Fatty!"

Luke waved farewell to Godzilla.

Godzilla retraced his steps, each stride shaking the ground. It was as if the Earth itself were seeing him off.

Truly the Earth's favored son, Luke sighed with emotion.

Mikaela walked over, her expression complicated. "You just called him Big Fatty? Is that his name?"

Luke nodded. "It's the name I gave him. What do you think? Isn't it very fitting?"

Mikaela thought about it. Godzilla really did look like a Big Fatty with that bulging belly.

But how could such a cute name possibly match a majestic beast over a hundred meters tall?

Optimus Prime crushed a parasitic insect underfoot and asked in a puzzled tone, "Did you know Big Fat… ehm.. Godzilla before?"

Luke shook his head. "This was our first meeting, but we had a connection and already became friends."

When Luke had spoken to Godzilla earlier, he had only been testing the waters. He hadn't expected Big Fatty to be so easy to win over.

On second thought, it made sense.

Godzilla had grown up alone since childhood. Aside from Mothra, who spent most of her time sleeping, he had no one he could truly trust as a friend.

Moreover, he had an entire group of mortal enemies lurking in the Hollow Earth.

Big Fatty's life had always been a lonely one.

Friends were a luxury to him.

He disdained befriending the weak.

As for the strong? Meeting them usually meant fighting first. Right?

Optimus Prime looked at the mountain-like Godzilla, then at Luke, who did not even reach Godzilla's knee.

His CPU struggled to comprehend how this man and this beast had become friends.

It was like a cat and a dog.

Cat: Meow meow meow.

Dog: Woof woof woof.

And then someone tells you the cat and the dog became best friends.

"Optimus Prime, I think we can become good friends too, right?"

Luke suddenly looked at Optimus Prime, subconsciously trying to rope him in as well.

"Ah… yes. We are comrades-in-arms. We are friends."

Optimus Prime nodded naturally.

But Luke did not see any anomaly notification appear.

You thick-browed, big-eyed Autobot, you lied without even blinking!

Godzilla was much better. He truly believed it after just a few words.

"Alright, since the AllSpark is already in hand, it's time for us to leave."

Luke glanced toward the mountainous region where the dense fog was gradually dissipating, faintly revealing the silent, lightless town hidden within the mist.

Because Luke had brought a large number of machines to life, and Optimus Prime and his team had caused a massive disturbance that drew in many monsters, most of the medium and large creatures in the town had already been killed or seriously injured.

Aside from a few basin-sized spiders and some winged birds, there was almost no real threat left.
