The carriage moved along the rocky way, bumping and jolting violently.
So much so that every jolt made us lurch forward as if the earth itself was trying to throw us off.
"Great…just great" I muttered.
The wooden frame groaned with every uneven stone, sending vibrations up through the floorboards.
I clutched at the sides of the carriage, bracing myself against the next sudden thump.
My stomach flipped each time we hit a particularly jagged rock.
"I feel I'm about to throw up" I said, holding my stomach and fighting the urge to throw breakfast.
My eyes moved to find any distraction and fell on the window.
Out there, the trees lining the path swayed gently, and the birds above sang as though nothing in the world could ever go wrong.
The girls in the carriage were undeterred by the rocky ride and uncared by the shaking.
They talked loudly over the bumps, their voices bright and melodic.
