Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: Explosions

And then — ahead of him — the building trembled.

THUD!

Kael's eyes widened.

Screams erupted instantly. People scattered through the flooded street, boots splashing, voices cracking with panic as chaos swallowed everything.

Soldiers pushed through the crowds, shouting,

"MOVE TO SAFETY! MOVE!"

The storm wasn't the only thing crashing down.

The entire front of the building tilted toward Kael's direction. Stone, metal, and glass tore apart with a monstrous groan. Kael froze — breath snagging in his throat.

No way…

I'm gonna die.

Like this?

The collapsing structure roared closer, its shadow swallowing him whole. Kael inhaled what he thought would be his last breath—

BOOM!

A second explosion ripped through the air.

Three helicopters swarmed above the city, slicing through the dark sky. The radios crackled desperately:

"Evacuate immediately. This is a nightmare turned real. It's dangerous — repeat — dangerous."

People kept running. Soldiers dragged civilians away, shielding them with their bodies. The rain had stopped, but the sky remained smothered in black clouds, holding the world in a suffocating grip of horror.

And in the middle of the ruined street…

something enormous stood.

Unmoving.

Watching.

Helicopter One broke formation.

"I'm going to check that out," the pilot said.

The aircraft dipped lower toward the giant silhouette.

BOOM!

Flames burst across the tail. The helicopter spiraled violently.

"Shit—! Shit—!" the pilot screamed, fighting the controls.

Beside him, the soldier stayed eerily calm.

"The end."

The pilot's eyes widened.

"What—?"

The soldier clicked his radio.

"We are crashing. Goodbye, comrades."

The helicopter dropped — spinning, burning — cutting through the air at terrifying speed.

THUD!

It hit the ground.

A massive explosion blasted outward like a shockwave. People even hundreds of meters away were thrown off their feet — slammed into the street, injured, bleeding, screaming in raw terror.

The city was falling apart.
