"May death be upon you."
"What did you say?"
The little lady's eyes glinted soft from the nearby single streetlight, her gaze unwavering on that towering figure. The night is shivering cold, with darkness swallowing the twilight. Her fingers hovers light, gesturing to the black mist.
"Are you dead?"
A voice ever so innocent. As if those words had uttered, had repeated. Her white dress, drenched with streaks of red and missing a red shoe.
"No. You are."
She pauses. Not a single car heard zooming pass the street, as headlights counted by her fingers, or at least, only by one hand. While missing an arm that she hasn't realized and a small back grazed, violent teared apart. Patch of her hair ripped off, smeared off.
"Oh... That's... unfortunate..."
Her words softening with an unreadable expression. After a while in silence, the black mist leaned in to the toddler.
"Do you want to go home?" Its words, made her curious.
"Home? To Mama?"
A laced hope and anticipation, yet met with a gently shakes of its humanoid misty head.
"Go home. Our home."
A black crescent formed on its lips, only now she had noticed its black hollowed eyes, squinting with an eerie smile. Yet she wasn't afraid. Nodding soft and holding out her hand to it.
"Okay, let's go home."
The smile grew widen before the black mist swirled for a while. A human hand took hers appeared amidst the mists. It was icy cold to the touch, and paled skin. Wearing but a black intricate robe that sweep of the floor.
Aside from his ominosity, he had a charming appearance. A chiseled jaw, straight nose, thick brows and an eerie yet beautiful smile plastered on his lips. His hair black longer in length, resting on his shoulders, matching his abyss-like irises without light reflecting in it, of eyes that doesn't seems to blink.
"Don't smile like that. People will know, you're not human."
The girl's giggled echoes through the night as she swings his hand, adorably.
He tugged her forward, as he led her away toward the darkness. Then, she started to lull a melody as they walked deeper and deeper, till no silhouette left seen.
"May death be upon you. Be it day and night, black and white, death and life. For death comes for you, as it comes for me, tonight..."
